July 1st, 2023 – Congratulations to Kyle Smith for this great win at the 1st race of the 2023 Summer iRacing Truck Series sponsored by Champion Motorsports. Kyle had a great truck all night in the Texas Summer Heat to hold off strong competition from Scott Kennedy, Josue Ramirez, Thomas Fisher and others in what was a thrilling race.

The race featured a very long green flag run with green flag pit stops to start the race, as well as a 2nd set of green flag pitstops that ensued. Doug Betts qualified on the pole, but had some issues on the start of the race that race control had to clear, which allowed Thomas Fisher, Ramirez, and Smith to battle along with Scott Kennedy and Stephen Knight as all the drivers had legitimate shots at winning.
A late race accident would bring out the caution and setup a dash to the end. Kyle was able to hold off a group of hard chargers to take the win. The series is off to a great start and we are super excited about all the upcoming races including next Friday July 7th at North Wilksboro for round 2.
