The rehearsals are over. Saturday at St. Petersburg closed the competitive preparation phase of the 2026 iRTES season, leaving only Sunday's 3-hour, 20-minute championship finale.

The supplied Saturday results file contains the Sprint Race classification. It does not include a separate FP2 timing sheet, so the statistical analysis below is based on the Sprint rather than assigning FP2 times that are not present in the export. The team names have also been normalized to the championship entries used in the season standings.

GTP: Kindler Wins the Final Sprint — and Does It Cleanly

Christopher Kindler put GermanPitbullzRacing Alpha on top in the final Sprint Race of the season, taking the #50 Porsche 963 from second on the grid to the overall victory.

Kindler completed all 27 laps, led 12 of them, recorded a best lap of 1:07.482 and — perhaps most impressively on a wall-lined street circuit — finished with zero incidents.

The other running GTP Porsche was driven by Kindler's regular GermanPitbullz teammate Leon Friedrisczyk. The raw iRacing export lists Leon under “GermanPitbullzRacing Bravo,” but for iRTES editorial purposes he is associated here with GermanPitbullzRacing Alpha, the championship team he represents.

Friedrisczyk actually started from pole, led 15 laps and set a 1:07.531 — only 0.049 second slower than Kindler's best. But he completed 26 laps and was classified one lap behind the winner. The export does not identify the specific reason for the lost lap, so it would be speculation to assign a cause.

The Organization Racing and the #7 Cadillac entered on the grid but did not complete a lap in the Sprint. PCA Sim Racing 963 did not appear in the supplied Sprint classification, so the biggest GTP championship comparison remains unanswered until Sunday.

GT3: Team Black Turns Survival into a Sprint Victory

The GT3 story was very different.

James Kelly and Team Black started eighth overall — fourth among the five GT3 cars shown on the grid — and emerged as the only GT3 entry to complete 25 laps. The BMW M4 GT3 EVO set a best of 1:13.111 and accumulated only two incidents.

That combination was enough to deliver the final GT3 Sprint victory of Season 6.

It was not the fastest GT3 car on a single lap. That honor went to Drew Lidkea, whose personal “Team Drew D Lidkea” entry is normalized here to his championship team, cmsracing.com AM. Lidkea ran a 1:12.635, nearly half a second faster than Team Black's best, and completed his 16 laps with zero incidents.

David Nelson, also normalized from his personal entry to cmsracing.com AM, was classified behind Lidkea after also completing 16 laps. Nelson's best was 1:13.350 with just one incident.

PCA Sim Racing GT3 and Lance Williams' personal entry — which is also associated with cmsracing.com AM — were listed in the Sprint export but did not complete a lap.

Why Team Black's Win Matters More Than the Lap Chart Suggests

A Sprint win does not change the endurance championship standings, but Team Black's run may be a useful preview of what St. Petersburg rewards.

FP1 already suggested that clean repetition might matter as much as ultimate speed on this circuit. Saturday reinforced the idea. Team Black did not own the quickest GT3 lap, but it stayed on track, completed the distance and kept the incident count low while quicker cars failed to finish.

Tomorrow's feature lasts 3 hours and 20 minutes. The fastest car will have many opportunities to gain time. It will also have many more opportunities to touch a wall, collect traffic or create a repair stop.

At St. Pete, being there at the end may be the first prerequisite for being fast at the end.

What We Learned Before Championship Sunday

• GermanPitbullz has raceable street-course speed. Kindler and Friedrisczyk were separated by only 0.049 second on their fastest laps.
• Kindler's 0x is a championship-level signal. Twenty-seven laps around St. Pete without an incident is arguably more valuable than another tenth of outright pace.
• Team Black proved execution can beat speed. It was not the quickest GT3 on one lap, but it was the only GT3 to complete 25 laps.
• cmsracing.com AM has real one-lap potential. Lidkea's 1:12.635 was the fastest GT3 lap in the Sprint, while Nelson also kept his incident count extremely low.
• Several major title players remain difficult to read. PCA GTP, Moradness and Quokka did not produce a comparable Sprint result in the supplied export, which keeps the finale unusually open.

Tomorrow: Two Championships Begin at 67-67

Nothing that happened Saturday changes the championship arithmetic.

In GTP, GermanPitbullzRacing Alpha and PCA Sim Racing 963 enter the finale tied at 67 points, with one victory and one second-place finish each. The Organization Racing remains third on 60 and can still win the title if it wins St. Petersburg and both leaders fall far enough down the order.

In GT3, Moradness Squad and Quokka Racing are also tied at 67 points, also with one win and one second-place finish apiece. For those two teams, the cleanest championship equation is simply to finish ahead of the other.

Team Brake Fade remains mathematically alive from 54 points, but the path is extreme: a victory plus both 67-point leaders finishing 10th or worse.

Tomorrow Morning: The Final Routine Before the Green

For Central Time competitors and viewers, race-day activity begins in the morning. The official race server opens at 10:30 AM Central (15:30 GMT), followed by the mandatory drivers meeting at 11:30 AM Central, solo qualifying at 11:45 AM Central, and the championship green flag at 12:00 PM Central / 17:00 GMT.

The feature is scheduled for 3 hours and 20 minutes. The current event concept remains a bright, dry late-summer Florida race with a 10:00 AM in-sim start, meaning track temperature and grip should evolve as the simulated morning moves toward early afternoon.

Five Things to Watch Sunday

1. What does PCA have? GermanPitbullz has now shown both FP1 speed and a clean Sprint victory. PCA's first truly meaningful comparison comes when the feature weekend turns serious.

2. Can Quokka convert FP1 preparation into a championship? Marjoribanks and Youngwall dominated the FP1 GT3 timing sheet a week ago. The next time the title contenders matter, the stakes are no longer practice laps.

3. Where does Moradness appear? After the Red Bull Ring penalty erased its points advantage, Moradness enters the finale tied with Quokka rather than protecting a lead. That changes the strategic posture completely.

4. Can The Organization turn practice speed into pressure? The BMW led FP1 and remains only seven championship points behind the two GTP leaders. If it runs at the front, the title race becomes a three-team tactical problem.

5. Who survives the traffic cycles? With GTP and GT3 circulating together on only 1.808 miles of street circuit, the fastest championship contender may not be the one with the best clean-air lap. It may be the one that loses the least time — and takes the least risk — while working through traffic.

One Race Left

Season 6 began with a non-points prelude and moved through four hours at Homestead, five hours of changing weather at Red Bull Ring, and now a final street-circuit weekend where every mistake has a wall waiting for it.

Saturday gave GermanPitbullz one more confidence boost and Team Black one final Sprint trophy. It gave cmsracing.com AM proof of its GT3 pace. It also left several of the championship favorites with their true hand still hidden.

Tomorrow there is nowhere left to hide it.
