iRTES Power Rankings After Round 2: GermanPitbullzRacing Takes the GTP Top Spot, Moradness Tightens Its Grip on GT3
The Red Bull Ring feature carries the most weight, with Homestead form, reliability, attendance, FP1 and Saturday's Sprint used as supporting evidence. These are performance rankings — not the championship standings.
Round 2 gave the rankings something the Homestead opener could not: a second full endurance result under completely different conditions. Dry pace mattered early, but the sustained rain, weather-driven Code 60 and drying finish placed far more emphasis on adaptability and execution.
GTP Power Rankings
The raw pace from Homestead finally became a win. Kindler and Friedrisczyk led 149 of 195 laps, set the fastest GTP lap at 1:20.806 and beat PCA by 41.750 seconds. Two rounds, two top-two finishes, and now a share of the championship lead.
A drop of one place is about GermanPitbullzRacing's win, not a loss of confidence in PCA. PCA has a win and a second just like GermanPitbullzRacing, completed all 195 laps in Austria with only 10 incidents, and remains tied for the championship at 67 points.
Back-to-back third-place finishes are becoming a pattern. The BMW completed 194 laps and again kept itself out of major trouble. Seven points from the championship lead makes The Organization more than a podium regular — it is still a real title threat.
The Acura remains fourth because its underlying pace is legitimate, but Austria was a setback. Carvalho and Sauceman completed 130 laps before disconnecting and accumulated 34 incidents. The team now needs a clean St. Petersburg result to finish the season on the trajectory its early pace suggested.
Titanium finally made a points-race start after the Homestead technical scratch. The Cadillac completed 42 laps at Red Bull Ring and, following the administrative correction, is credited with fifth place in GTP and 26 points. It was not a full-distance result, but simply getting on track and scoring moves the team ahead of an absent 360 Motorsports.
The Cadillac showed speed at Homestead but did not record a Round 2 feature result. With Titanium now officially scoring fifth-place points in Austria, 360 slips one position. The underlying pace from Round 1 remains interesting, but the lack of a Red Bull Ring result leaves much less current evidence heading to the finale.
GT3 Power Rankings
Two races, two wins. Moradness returned after a quiet practice/Sprint build-up and immediately reset the class benchmark with a 1:29.294 fastest lap before surviving every weather phase. The championship lead is now six points and a St. Petersburg podium guarantees the title.
The model of consistency: second at Homestead, fastest in Red Bull FP1, and second again in the five-hour race. Marjoribanks and Youngwall have completed the same race distance as Moradness in both rounds and remain the clearest challenger.
Fourth at Homestead became third at Red Bull Ring. Brake Fade again moved forward from its starting position and has now produced two strong endurance results on very different circuits. The McLaren is also the only team beyond the top two with a realistic conventional path to the title.
One of the biggest positive weekends. Chrome was second in the Sprint, advanced from seventh to fourth in the feature and recorded only nine incidents — the cleanest total among classified GT3 finishers. That is a major response to the Homestead post-race penalty.
Saturday's Sprint win was not a one-off. Harvey and Andrew followed it with fifth in the five-hour feature and 177 completed laps. SimHQ now has momentum, improving endurance form and the current GT3 50+ points leader in James Andrew.
The Porsche remains quick and dependable, but the feature results have settled into fifth at Homestead and sixth at Red Bull Ring. PCA completed 177 laps in Austria and still sits fourth in the championship, but the teams immediately ahead have converted more of their pace into podiums.
The largest rise in the ranking. Homestead was effectively lost before the race developed, but Austria showed what this lineup can do: Lance Williams P2 in FP1, David Nelson P3 in the Sprint, then Williams, Nelson and Drew Lidkea combining for seventh in the feature with only 14 incidents. This is now a credible midfield-to-front-half team.
Seventh after the corrected Homestead classification and eighth at Red Bull Ring makes ThumbTech one of the more predictable finishers in the field. Thirty-five incidents in Austria keep it from ranking higher, but it continues to bank points.
The harshest fall among the front-runners. SOELPEC arrived third in the championship and had enormous pace — the 1:29.716 was the second-fastest GT3 lap of the race — but completed only 56 laps. Speed keeps it inside the top ten; reliability drops it well out of the top five.
Another full-distance result moves Team Black upward. Ninth in class at Red Bull Ring and 173 laps completed gives the BMW more current evidence than several teams that missed the round entirely.
A solid sixth-place Homestead result still carries weight, but no Round 2 feature result means the team loses ground to cars that proved themselves through the Austrian weather.
The team finally entered a points race after missing Homestead and showed legitimate speed, including a 1:29.941 fastest lap. The 93-lap disconnect keeps the ranking conservative, but simply returning with front-end dry pace is meaningful progress.
Carbon was part of the Homestead midfield fight but did not record a Red Bull Ring feature result. With Chrome surging and cmsracing.com AM completing a strong weekend, inactivity costs positions.
An eighth-place power ranking after Homestead reflected a strong opening result. Missing Round 2 removes the chance to validate that momentum and produces a major slide.
Dark Thunder earned points at Homestead but did not record a feature result in Austria. The final round becomes an opportunity to restore the season with a complete street-circuit performance.
The team had a difficult Homestead and then missed Red Bull Ring. With only St. Petersburg remaining, there is not enough recent endurance evidence to keep it ahead of teams that competed in Austria.
Biggest Movers
Up: cmsracing.com AM (+8) — FP1 speed, a Sprint podium and a complete three-driver feature performance completely changed the picture after Homestead.
Up: SimHQ Motorsports WHITE (+6) — Sprint winner, feature top five and growing consistency.
Up: Longhorn Racing Chrome (+2) — the cleanest classified GT3 feature finisher and a second-place Sprint result.
Down: SOELPEC Precision Racing (-6) — elite pace but only 56 feature laps.
Down: Sim Racers Room (-6) — a Round 2 absence erases much of the momentum from Homestead.
What the Rankings Say About St. Petersburg
The GTP rankings and the championship standings now point to the same showdown: GermanPitbullzRacing and PCA have separated themselves through two rounds, but The Organization is close enough that any mistake from the leaders creates an opening.
GT3 is different. Moradness and Quokka have been first and second in both points races, but Team Brake Fade, Longhorn Chrome and SimHQ all improved their position in Austria. The finale is therefore a championship fight at the front and a rapidly changing hierarchy immediately behind it.
St. Petersburg should also change the weighting one final time. Red Bull Ring rewarded weather management and long-run adaptation; the street circuit will place a premium on qualifying, precision, traffic judgment and avoiding contact with walls. Teams that built their Red Bull result through consistency will now have to prove they can deliver the same discipline with almost no margin for error.
