Champion Motorsports iRacing Team Endurance Series Opens Season 6 with Exciting Prelude at Okayama

The Champion Motorsports iRacing Team Endurance Series officially kicked off its sixth season Sunday with the inaugural Prelude Race at Okayama International Circuit – Full Course, marking the first visit to the Japanese circuit in series history.

While no championship points were on the line, the two-hour event served as the perfect opportunity for teams to shake down new cars, fine tune strategies, and size up the competition before the Season 6 championship begins on July 12. The only prize at stake was bragging rights—but judging by the intensity on track, that was more than enough motivation.

A field of 17 teams took the green flag, featuring 4 GTP prototypes and 13 GT3 entries, producing outstanding multi-class racing from start to finish.

GT3 Battle Comes Down to the Closing Laps

The race of the afternoon belonged to the GT3 class.

Octo Sins v1Kings and PCA Sim Racing GT3 spent much of the race locked together in an intense battle featuring clean side-by-side racing, smart traffic management, and strategic pit execution.

With only a few laps remaining, the v1Kings team found the opening they needed, making a decisive late-race pass to secure the GT3 class victory after nearly two hours of competition. It was a fitting finish to one of the best class battles the series has seen.

In the GTP class, PCA Sim Racing 963 put together a commanding performance, leading the field to claim the overall victory at Okayama.

While the win was relatively comfortable, the battle behind them kept fans entertained throughout the event. The two Champion Motorsports-sponsored entries—cmsracing.com Endurance and cmsracing.com Titanium—continued what is quickly becoming an entertaining intra-team rivalry, battling throughout the race for the remaining podium positions.

Clean Racing Sets the Tone

Perhaps the biggest success of the Prelude wasn’t who won—it was how everyone raced.

Despite close competition in both classes and constant multi-class traffic around the technical Okayama circuit, the field delivered one of the cleanest endurance races in recent series memory. Several teams completed the race with zero incident points, including GT3 winner Octo Sins v1Kings, highlighting the professionalism and respect shown throughout the field.

The Prelude accomplished exactly what it was designed to do: provide teams valuable race experience while giving fans an exciting preview of what promises to be a fantastic Season 6.
