Season 6 Championship Begins at Homestead-Miami
The wait is over.
After an exciting Prelude event at Okayama, the Champion Motorsports iRacing Team Endurance Series officially opens its Season 6 championship on July 12 with a demanding four-hour endurance race at Homestead-Miami Speedway – Road Course B.
Unlike the Prelude, this one counts.
Championship points, strategy, endurance, and execution will all take center stage as an expected field of 25-30 cars prepares to tackle one of iRacing’s most unique circuits. The field is expected to feature up to 12 GTP prototypes alongside 18 GT3 entries, creating busy multi-class racing from the opening green flag until the final checkered flag.

Track Preview
Homestead-Miami’s Road Course B is one of the most unique circuits on the iRacing service, combining a technical infield road course with the speed and commitment required on the high-banked oval.
The circuit rewards drivers who can smoothly transition between slow technical corners and high-speed banking while maintaining momentum throughout the lap. Finding the right setup is always a compromise. Teams need enough downforce to attack the infield while minimizing drag for the long acceleration zones and banking.
The circuit has produced outstanding sports car racing over the years thanks to multiple passing zones, varying racing lines, and heavy braking opportunities. It is a track that rewards patience just as much as outright speed.
Prelude Momentum…or a Clean Slate?
One of the biggest storylines entering Round 1 is whether the teams that impressed during the Okayama Prelude can carry that momentum into the championship.
PCA Sim Racing established itself as the early benchmark in GTP while Octo Sins v1Kings captured an exciting GT3 victory following a dramatic late-race pass.
However, Homestead presents an entirely different challenge.
The Prelude rewarded precision through a technical circuit. Homestead emphasizes speed, tire conservation, traffic management, and long-run consistency. Teams that participated at Okayama gained valuable race experience together, but several highly anticipated organizations—including 360 Motorsports, The Organization, SOELPEC Precision Racing, Team Brake Fade, Schadenfreude Fodder, and Quokka Racing—will make their championship debut looking to immediately challenge the established order.
Keys to Victory
Traffic Management
With nearly thirty cars expected, GTP drivers must balance aggression with patience when working through GT3 traffic, while GT3 teams must remain predictable and minimize lost time.
Tire Conservation
Homestead rewards drivers who can preserve their tires over an entire fuel run. Teams that abuse the tires early often struggle during the closing laps of each stint.
Pit Strategy
Four hours allows strategy to become a major factor. Fuel windows, pit timing, driver changes, and clean pit execution can easily determine the final finishing order.
Consistency
Championships are rarely won by the fastest team—they’re won by the team making the fewest mistakes. The clean racing displayed during the Prelude will be just as important over four hours at Homestead.
