MNRL Caterham – Round 3 at Algarve

Race report by Bob Williams February 23, 2021 - For Round 3 of the MNRL Caterham Superlight World Tour Championship, drivers found themselves traveling to the northern hemisphere, across the GMT, and preparing to race at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimão, Portugal. Bordering the Atlantic ocean, this course features massive elevation changes throughout a lap, with many blind crests and apexes, and a great blend of high-speed and low-speed corners. The course is perfectly suited for the sporty Caterham Superlight featured in this series, and drivers will find themselves making full use of the available gearing in these cars, topping out 6th gear on the end of the main straight. Qualifying The 10-minute qualifying session saw drivers pushing into the sub-2 minute range, with the fastest drivers pushing into the 1:56:xxx range. MNRL Camaro Club Series at Barber MSP

January 21, 2020 - The first, officially scored, MNRL Series 12 event is in the record books. The Camaro Club Challenge Series headed to the always exciting and highly challenging Barber Motorsports Park for the first two races of that series. Joe Miller came out swinging, after taking the pole and winning Race 1. Janes Junior applied pressure for a large part of the race, but small errors forced him to abandon pursuit of the top spot. He retained P2, followed by Gilles Lalonde in P3. In Seniors division, Peter Holm took the top spot while finishing an impressive P4 overall in the process. MNRL 1998 CART Montreal Exhibition Race

January 14, 2020 - MNRL hosted the sole exhibition race of the 1998 CART series on January 14, 2020 at Montreal. Seasoned drivers took to the front of the field, while newcomers showed early promise in what is surely a challenging car for nearly any driver. Joe Miller set the pace early on, while pole sitter Jason Whited struggled at the start and fell back through the field in what was a chaotic first few corners. Surprisingly, nearly all drivers managed their way through the chaos without incident and the race was under way! Newcomer Gui Cramer showed early promise, quickly finding himself in P2. A later, unfortunate incident, would see him eventually retire from the race early. MNRL ’74 911 at Snetterton

November 19, 2019 - Car troubles would see points leader Joe Miller sit out the Snetterton races. Jason Whited took advantage of the situation and with wins in both races, took back his championship points lead. Gilles Lalonde took P2 in both races. Pete Holm and Aaron Page were both able to grab their first overall podium of the series finishing P3 in respective races. In seniors division, Race 1 podiums were as follows. P1 - Pete Holm P2 - Jerry Hamilton P3 - Aaron Page. And in Race 2 it was Aaron Page taking the P1 spot, followed by senior points leader Jerry Hamilton in P2, and Pete Holm rounding out the top 3. MNRL F1 95 at Silverstone

November 12, 2019 - While it seems simplistic on the surface, Silverstone always proves itself a great challenge for drivers. Round 4 of the MNRL F1 95 Series was held there. Joe Miller took the pole, but thus far dominating driver in the series, Allan Hellmann stole the show and the race with another convincing win. Frank McCurdy took P2 and Joe Miller rounded out the overall top 3. In seniors division, Peter Holm grabbed his first win of the series. Tony Boynton was also able to clinch a podium spot, finishing in P2, followed by Seniors points leader Jerry Hamiliton in P3. The challenging Nurburgring circuit is next on the schedule after a short one week Thanksgiving break for the teams. Results

MNRL ’74 911 at Ibarra (reverse layout)

November 5, 2019 - Joe Miller steals the championship points lead from Jason Whited with back to back wins at Ibarra. Brette Brooks managed 2 podiums in the two races, finishing P3 in Race 1 and P2 in Race 2. Even though he lost the points lead, Jason Whited was able to grab 2 podium spots as well, finishing P2 and P3 respectively. In Seniors division, Bill Brehm took back to back wins, returning to MNRL with style. He was followed by Pete Holm and Aaron Page, rounding out the top 3 in Race 1. In Race 2, Jerry Hamilton took the runner up spot and Pete Holm followed closely, ending up in P3. With two rounds remaining, and a mere 3 point difference at the front of the championship standings, an exciting finish to this series is all but written in stone. MNRL F1 95 Series at Magny-Cours

October 29, 2019 - After back-to-back DNF's in the first two rounds of the MNRL F1 '95 series, Jason Whited managed a surprising win at Magny-Cours. Bob Williams pulled out a nice second place finish, with Bruno Mancebo rounding out the podium. Points leader Allan Hellmann took and early and commanding lead, but soon ran into troubles that forced him to retire early. Jerry Hamilton won in the seniors division, taking the championship points lead in the process. Peter Holm took P2, with Aaron Page rounding out the seniors podiums in P3. The series heats up as we move into Round 4, which will take place at Silverstone in two weeks time. New but familiar faces move into the points battle as others face struggle. It's far from over. MNRL ’74 911 at Cadwell Park

October 22, 2019 - Cadwell Park is quite a unique racing circuit. So unique and challenging in fact, many don't even believe cars are raced on such a narrow, windy road until they see it for themselves. Joe Miller proved he was up to the challenge with double wins in the '74 Porsche 911 on Tuesday night, while points leader Jason Whited took double P2s and Tyler Alan followed suit with a string of P3s rounding out the podium. In the Seniors Division, Aaron Page also stepped up for the challenge taking the win in both races. Jerry Hamilton and Tony Boynton rounded out the top 3 in both events. The points battle is very close and with much of the season still left to be played out, anything could happen. MNRL F1 95 Series at Barcelona

October 15, 2019 - Allan Hellmann won the second round of the MNRL F1 95 series. Two races, two wins in this series, and Allan is proving himself to be a top driver in the open wheel discipline. Frank McCurdy and Joe Miller had an exciting battle for second, with Frank McCurdy narrowly coming out on top again. In the Senior's Division, Denis Turcotte took P1 with Jerry Hamilton and Frank Radosti not far behind. Round 3 will take place at Magny-Cours. It is a circuit that will provide an intense challenge to the drivers (as if the car itself was not enough). The Championship battles are just heating up, and with a few usual front runners struggling early on, expect potential curve-balls to be thrown throughout the series. Results

MNRL F1 1995 Series at Buenos Aires

Newcomer Allan Hellman shocked fans and drivers alike with a commanding victory in the first race of the MNRL 1995 F1 Series at Buenos Aires. Frank McCurdy put in a solid race that paid off with a P2 finish. Joe Miller rounded out the top 3. In the seniors divsion, Denis Turcotte set the pace with a solid win, finishing 4th overall. The second round of the series will be held October 14 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya and if the first round of the series is any indication of the action we'll see, we're in for a great race and an action packed series throughout!
