All season long, competition has been fierce in both the LMP2 and Radical classes. With multiple championship bids still on the line, Wednesday’s race was do-or-die for the top contenders.
In the LMP2s, Michael Parker seemed hard to beat with four wins and a second place before last night, yet JT Tami was still only 11 points behind. An upset was not to be, however, as Parker won the race, securing his championship victory. In fact, the top three all finished in order, making the championship order Parker, Tami, and Kris Hudson. There were no changes down the order, apart from newcomer Jose D’Oleo coming in to score some last minute points!
For the Radicals, Drew Lidkea won the championship by nine points over a very dialed in Dick Mueller. Mueller missed the first two races, but made up for it by winning every other race! Douglas Hintze was another 24 points back in third place. We had another debut drive, from Richard McLure, putting him on the board.
Another big thank you to all the drivers who came out to support this series! This wouldn’t be possible without you.
And don’t forget, we’re accepting signups for the 2023 GT3 Sprint Series! Assigned car numbers are going fast, so sign up soon!
