    Default CMS-TXL GT3 Series at Spa-Francorchamps - Driver's Briefing

    CMS-TXL GT3 Sports Car Series
Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps - GP Pits
    Wednesday, July 10th, 2019

We're now two races into this 10-race season, which means two things:

    1. If you haven't made a race this season, you can still make a run at the Championship because everyone gets 2 dropped results!!

    2. Everyone is getting more familiar with everyone else and knows who to chase and who is chasing them!!

The points standings are tight, and there's some great battles in each classification. But as mentioned already, the driver's Championship allows for 2 drops during the season, so whether you missed a race or just had a bad outing, the battle is still on and this week's locale will put emphasis on consistency and car control.

Spa, or it's formal name Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, is home to the Formula One Belgium Grand Prix, and over the years has seen changes made to the circuit that have left the most interesting sections intact. Between the high speed section at Eau Rouge, where you're on the knife's edge trying to keep you speed up for the Kemmel Straight, or Blanchimont with it's flat-out left hander leading to the passing opportunities at the Bus Stop and La Source, the emphasis on car setup is enough downforce for those sections without sacrificing straight line speed!

To add to the excitement this week, this race will take place at SUNSET, so make sure you have your graphics tweaked for night racing, and get everything set up for running in the dark.

Before we get going, just a few reminders about the series.

    - For more information regarding the league, go HERE and read through the season format and schedule

    - Everyone needs to be ready for race night, running the appropriate car number as outlined in the Registration Thread. Everyone has had plenty of time to change their car number in iRacing for these events, and there's no excuse for not having it ready on race night. If you do not run the correct number on race night, a point deduction will be assessed for that race. This system is used to aide in determining the classes running on the track, so each competitor can know who they are racing against, so please take 60 seconds and change this number before entering the server Wednesday night! If you attend practice on Tuesday night and your number is not correct, we will point it out in the forums afterwards, so again there is no reason for anyone to not be prepared.

    - If you haven't yet, take the time to read the CMS General Competition Rules. You must be aware of these rules before participating in any league event!

    - The starting procedure for all the events this season is the same...during the formation lap, everyone will hold their double-wide position, and the pole sitter will control the field. When the pace car pulls off the track, HOLD YOUR PACE SPEED and do not jump the start! The pace speed will continue until the lights turn green, at which point the race will start! Anyone caught jumping the start anywhere in the field will be subject to penalties.

This is a 75 minute race, and the start of these races should be conservative and about keeping the fenders straight. Tires and brakes are cold, we just need to work our way through the first lap.

For this week's Orange Zone, note the track map below:

This zone constitutes the outlined Orange Zone area on the track during the 1st Lap. This zone should be regarded as a PASS WITH EXTREME CAUTION area during the first lap of any race. Should an incident occur because a driver chooses to attempt a pass within this “Orange Zone” the driver initiating the pass will likely be held responsible.

The Orange Zone will run from start of the race to the exit of Eau Rouge

    Notes for tonight:

Be aware of cars exiting the pits

If you wreck, HOLD THE BRAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuel Capacity for all cars is set to 75%

    Incident Count Limit: 30

    Have fun!
