Default 2019 NARS Summer Series - Incident Reviews

NOTICE: Preseason incident reviews and consequent penalties are for practice and to remind drivers of the rules. It has no penalty affect going into the season opener.

NARS GT3 Donington Preseason Race IRR #1 Review Final

Involved Drivers: Ernest Dela Cruz, JT Tami

    Timestamp: 299.7

Incident Notes: Contact between Dela Cruz and Tami at Fogarty Esses.

Penalty: Stop and Hold 15 Sec to Dela Cruz for avoidable contact, causing damage and position loss to competitor.

Steward's Comments: A safe pass (especially going into tight corners) solely falls on the shoulders of the driver who is putting on a pass. If he is not adequately in "side by side" position at turn-in point he has to abort the pass. See GCR: "PASSING AND ON-TRACK BEHAVIOR" rules 1 thru 5.

Default NARS GT3 Rd2 Portland Incident Review

NARS GT3 Rd2 Portland IRR #1 Review Final

Involved Drivers: Norm Graf, JT Tami, Jon Uyan

    Timestamp: R2 496.4 - 499.8

Incident Notes: Contact between JT and Norm, which led to contact between JT and Jon. Both JT and Jon received damages. JT lost 8 positions right after the incident, Jon lost 12 positions after his repairs.

Stewards Comments: As both drivers brake (494.5), JT is well alongside Norm, earning the right for side-by-side into the corner. At the apex (496.3), contact is made. JT is as far to the inside as he can be, without putting four tires inside the white line. Norm cuts close, does not provide racing space for JT, and contact is made. JT's spin collects Jon, whose point of view didn't provide for seeing where the stricken JT would end up.

Penalties: Stop & Hold 20 seconds to Norm Graf for avoidable contact, multiple positions lost and damages to competitors.
