Thumbs up 2019 CMS Donation Drive to Help Cover our Costs and Expenses for the Site

Hello Everyone. As most of you know, CMS is a donation only community. This means that we do not require anyone here to pay to race and we dont have ads or sponsors on our website that are controlling how we run the community. This helps give us full control to make this a racers and peoples community first without outside influence. We do however, use donations from community members to help with our costs associated with running things, because it does cost money to keep a website of this size rolling each year.

As we have grown over the years, our costs have risen, and it is currently costing us about $2750.00 per year to run the community.

With this said, I have enabled the donation system on the website in hope of raising some funds to assist with the costs of the various things we need to maintain. We have set a goal to hopefully raise $2500 between now and January 15th 2019. Note, we've already received $250, this year from ad-hoc donations. Thank you all for the unsolicited donations thusfar!

If most members make even a small donation we can get there. Your help is much appreciated.

You can easily donate using paypal which takes less than 5 minutes.
For starters there is a paypal button on the main page at
    Champion Motorsports

    Keep our wheels turning!

Your donation helps CMS hosting expenses. Thank you for your continued support!

Additionally we have enabled the donation bar in the forums which will show progress towards our goal. You can donate via the forum links and donate buttons.

Finally if you wish to donate another way, you may contact me via Private Message if paypal is not an option for you.

Thank you all so much for supporting CMS, your donations help make all of this possible.

Here is a detailed list of things donations go towards
    -----
    Website Hosting
    Domain Registration
VPS Dedicated Hosted Server for increased capacity and performance
Additional Storage for our archives, results, and downloads
    vBulletin Software for portal

dedicated racing server for rFactor 2, AC, Automobilista, etc.
    iRacing Hosted Sessions

    sponsorships and misc. community feeds

I should also mention that anytime you make a donation to the CMS community we track it for your records as a way of recognizing our donors at this link.

I think something's wrong with that link, it shows me the smileys instead of donors

lol That's an interesting outcome Mihaly. Can anyone else see it? Also, thank you all so far for the generous donations that have been coming in. We are already over 1/3rd of the way there in a few days. I can't thank you enough for your support of CMS. For those of you that haven't had the chance yet to donate, I would really encourage you to help contribute to CMS. Every little bit makes a big difference and helps the community. Thanks again. -- DA

Ok Everyone. Again thank you for those of you that have contributed already to our 2019 costs at CMS. If you haven't yet made a donation please consider chipping in. We are still about 1500 short of our goal and we definitely need support from the community ... every bit counts. -- DA

Yeah its me again bugging you because you haven't helped David yet.

If you did! Thank you for helping to keep the doors open!

For those who haven't donated yet to the annual fund, have you received $3 a month worth of fun at CMS in the past year?
If yes, consider donating $36.00. If everyone would contribute that, we'd be there.

Tote board is at $1120 USD as I write this.
That is 45% of the goal just for David to get his expended money back! So we can have fun!

Just $130 USD more contributions to be halfway!

    -----------

And no, David doesn't know I'm posting this and never prompted me to post it.

But I've been there and know how much work it takes and it bugs me people don't help support
and then wonder why a place couldn't survive indefinitely.

    Team

I really hate to have to nudge these kinds of posts, but to Doug's point above we could really use everyone's help here. If you have already helped with 2019 expenses thanks so much. If you have not please consider helping us so we can keep offering all the things that make CMS fun for us all. Happy Holidays everyone and thank you so much for helping making this all possible.

Apparently the list of individual donations are only viewable by me as the admin of the site. Which makes sense, it't not necessarily appropriate for every member to see what another member has or hasn't donated. However there is a progress bar at the top of the forums which shows our overall progress and is updated in real time as donations come in. So that's how the community can see where we are compared to our goal ... thanks everyone your help and support of CMS is appreciated. Please consider chipping in if you haven't yet. It is important and helps.
