The Coffee Cup League has entered the halfway point of the season with 5 races being run, (still time to actually get race 5 in the books before 6:45pm CST on Monday 8/6), and we are off to a really fun start. The series started as a way for members to have a new racing time on the weekend mornings before things got busy. We've got a core group participating in the series that has really established some camaraderie and having a nice time. The series is structured in that races are early in the morning on Saturdays, and your best 6 of 9 races in the season count towards the points. So, if you have to miss a race, no biggie, you have plenty of chances to get out and score points and have some fun.

Taking a look at the results thusfar Jason Lundy is leading the pro class which is for drivers above 1900 iRating in their first event scored. Jason is riding high with really strong early season finishes at both Mosport and Brands Hatch Indy. He also leads the overall points of combined classes in the series.

David Anderson is leading the AM class with a class win at Barber and some other solid results of his own. Jay Dargert is lurking with having missed a week, so his points and wins at Brands Hatch and what looks like to be Zandvoort when official have him right in the mix.

Next week for round 6 of 9 we will be headed to Circuit of Americas West Configuration in Austin, Texas. Sure to be a really fun and popular race.
