    Default 5/30/18 Sportscar Trophy - Rd3 - Driver's Briefing

It's the final round before our first break of the season, and we go to Road Atlanta, for what should be a very exciting couple of races in the twists and dips of this Georgian classic. Normally host to Petit Le Mans, Road Atlanta has not hosted LMP1 since the ALMS days. Now with our own Petit Petit Le Mans, modern LMP1s from Audi & Porsche pay a visit to one of sportscar racing's hallowed North American venues. Will it be Ford or Ferrari on top here in GTE? Will Stuttgart or Ingolstadt prevail in GT3? Make sure you're in attendance this Wednesday night for Round 3 of the Sportscar Trophy!!

    Briefing Notes
    • The Orange Zone will run from the start/finish line to the exit of T5 (last of the esses, uphill left hander)
    • The Acceleration Zone will run from the exit of T12 (final corner) to start/finish line
    • Be mindful of cars exiting pits
    • Prototypes! Be mindful of slower traffic in the esses! Don't try to bully your way past!
    • GTs! On such a short but fast circuit, you can get lost if you drive in mirrors - don't spend too much time looking behind but hold your line
    • One fast repair
    • LMP1 & GTE fuel limited to 60%
    • GT3 fuel limited to 55%
    • Have fun!

    Dynamic Weather
    Race 1: Morning
    Race 2: Late Afternoon

The "ORANGE ZONE POLICY EXPLAINED" This zone constitutes the outlined Orange Zone area on the track during the 1st Lap. This zone should be regarded as a PASS WITH EXTREME CAUTION area during the first lap of any race. Should an incident occur because a driver chooses to attempt a pass within this “Orange Zone” the driver initiating the pass will likely be held responsible.

Outside of the Orange Zone, clean and responsible driving is the order of the day. If you begin to spin, hold the brake down so your car's actions will be more predictable to drivers attempting to negotiate the track safely. Please take the utmost care and use your Relative Black Box (F3) to safely rejoin the track if you have an off.

Looking forward to this one. Got myself a good race car this week. But the T-2 & 3 up and over is killing my time. Every lap I go thru it a different way but always slow for sure lol. I really hope the LMP's will try not to overtake slower traffic thru that complex. Just let us ..or me get to the downhill straight and then have at it.

Guys I will not be making Road Atlanta tonight. Been fighting a small case of gout in my foot and it would just be too painful. Truly a shame as Iíve practiced many laps and have good pace here in all weather conditions.

    Good luck to all tonight.
