Default Fanatec and Windows 10 Creator Update

Just a heads up to all Fanatec users....found this post on Reddit, and while there hasn't been additional posts yet, wanted to make sure it was seen here:

Anyone tried it? I did and my v3 pedals and CSL Elite was still working kind of but I could not access the properties settings. Trying to do so would failed and the device isn't listed anymore.
I could make them back by uninstalling the problematic device in the device manager and then reboot. Still no way to adjust my pedals so my brake cablibration is off.
I rolled back to the previous windows 10 version for now.

Today, April 11th, is the day the 1703 Creator Update is hitting Windows 10 Updates, and it's a big update changing some settings and supposed to make updates easier in the future (being delta level updates and not major file changing updates), the above post had me concerned and I will test it myself in the next day or two.

As with all OS updates, you never know how drivers will react...guess I'll see soon enough.

If I see any more on this, I'll be sure to share it.

To follow up, the consensus has been to reinstall the Fanatec drivers. I will probably start the Creators Update tonight before heading to bed, and if this doesn't work I'll post and continue the discussion.

Jimmy, I saw you had some issues last night that you thought were due to the update...resolved?

Thrustmaster wheel and Fanatec pedals were fine for me after the update, but it changed my sound and monitor settings. All fixed now and working fine.

Did the 1703 "Creators Update" this evening, and while my Fanatec Clubsport V2's which are plugged in directly via USB didn't have any problems, the CSL Elite Wheel was...well, broken. It appears that upon powering up the wheel, Windows installed it's own drivers or something, and the Fanatec graphical interface wouldn't open.

Tried to run the driver installer and do a Repair, but to no avail, it still didn't work. So did an uninstall of the Fanatec drivers, rebooted, checked that the default folder location was gone, then reinstalled the drivers. After that, everything was working as it should....but let me add that I didn't have my pedals or wheel based plugged in on the reboot until AFTER I reinstalled the Fanatec drivers so Windows wouldn't do it's own driver install. Don't know if it makes a difference, but mine is working fine now.

Driver wipe and reinstall seems to be working for many. Glad it's a simple fix.

I'm bringing this thread back up because.....yep, there's a big Windows Update (May 2019 Update). I did the update last night before going to bed, and tonight discovered that once again the Fanatec wheel properties couldn't be opened, and the wheel just didn't feel right in iRacing.

So searching and finding this thread, I followed the process I did back then which was:

    - Unplug all Fanatec devices from computer

    - Uninstall Fanatec software from Windows

    - Restart computer

    - Install latest version of software from Fanatec website

    - Restart computer

    - Plug pedals in, check in properties page

    - Plug wheel in, check in properties page

    And all is good again!

On a side note, Windows seems to be running faster and this article talks about it (and other new features):
