    Default Elite: Dangerous

    Anyone here playing Elite: Dangerous?

Frontier: Elite II was a big part of my gaming past back in my Amiga days. I wasn't a beta backer for E: D, but I bought it the day before release, and have devoted an unhealthy amount of time to it since then.

I bounce between bounty hunting, trading, and combat in my Cobra, Type 6, and Vulture, depending on my mood and what community goals are going on. Really looking forward to the eminent PowerPlay update too.

So any other CMDRs here? What are you flying and what are you doing?

I picked it up to try with the oculus i had for a while but mostly just flew around checking stuff out and didn't get into it much. Don't have the oculus anymore but do have a track ir now so been meaning to jump back into it and play some more. One of these days..

Bought it at launch, played about 40 hours and got really sick of space trucking. Not much to do in the game, and one day I lost around a million credits of trade goods in my Cobra and pretty much rage quit.

Looking forward to getting back into it with 1.3 tho.

Edit: Sorry this came off more negative than it should have. I loved how the game felt, it was very authentic and immersive. It is a really good framework and the universe is very convincing. As far as a space pilot simulator it is top notch. I just wish there were more things to do to flesh out the world a bit.

Is it only multi-player or is there a single player option?

It has single player, multi player, and private groups. But an Internet connection is required even for the single-player mode (they all share the same persistent universe, economy, etc.)

Powerplay is live, looks like a good time for me to jump back into my viper. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showth...31#post2337131

Yep, spent some time in it tonight, but haven't pledged allegiance to a power yet.....
