Champion Motorsports is very excited to announce that we are forming an e-sports team for rFactor 2 which will start by competing in the P1 Gaming Endurance Championship in the GTE class, starting on March 3rd at Suzuka in the 12 hours. An effort that was organized by members of the Champion Motorsports community here on the forums and with close partnership and collaboration with our friends at SimHQ Motorsports.

A preview of the livery that we will be running is shared here as the team will compete in the BMW GTE car, with Champion Motorsports being shown proudly.

    The team roster includes:

Team Manager: David Anderson: David is the founder of Champion Motorsports and will manage the team and our involvement and entries in the series. David will also be a test driver and backup driver should he be called up on by the team.

JT Tami: No stranger to racing and racing well on the rFactor platform. JT is a real pro and someone that has been a part of Champoion Motorsports and our community for a very long time. JT will set a bar for the team on pace and consistency that will be a great motivator

Matthew Overton: Coming from Canada and also a co-member of SimHQ Motorsports, Matthew is a phenomenal driver. He has raced with the CMS endurance team prior in multiple iRacing Endurance events. He also has quite a bit of experience with the P1 Gaming league and will be a very stable and core part of the team.

Vincent Marsh: Another Canadian as well as a newcomer to Champion Motorsports, Vincent brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the team. Recently finding Champion Motorsports by way of our new Monday Night Assetto Corsa Competizione league, Vincent saw this opportunity and wanted to get in from the start. Already proving to be a valuable member of the team as we prepare and work on the car setup we are excited to have Vincent.

Bill Brehm: Rounding out the team is Bill, one of the most experienced, and longer time members of the simracing community. Bill has been racing with Champion in our rFactor 2 events for quite some time now. His involvement in simracing also dates back to the early GPL leagues that many members of CMS were part of too. Having Bill on the team will bring a lot of wisdom and experience that is so important in these kinds or races!

Stay tuned for more information as this is a developing story and we will continue to provide updates on the teams progress at Suzuka and beyond!!! Congratulations to the roster, and let's go have some fun!

While I had driven many online events at the Sebring International Raceway, I'd never had the chance to compete in the Modified course. The shorter Modified course may have taken just under 1 minute a lap, but it featured many technical challenges that were going to make it difficult for the drivers at Lionheart.

After the points miracle that happened at Indianapolis, I had to finish at minimum in 10th in this race and the season finale at Homestead in order to clinch what would be the first eSports championship of my online racing career. Road courses had been my weak spot all season despite having 2 podiums and a 4th place, so I wanted to make sure that I drove a smart race with as little mistakes as possible to try and overcome this potential vulnerability. Would I be able to make the desired improvement to help my championship cause? Watch and find out!

I've just finished up another weekend. This was my first time to Roebling Road, just outside of Savannah, GA. Unlike the other tracks I've visited so far, I had zero laps in a simulator before getting out onto the track. I watched some youtube videos leading up to the weekend but was mostly going in blind. It took a few sessions to start getting comfortable and really getting to know the line. By the end of the weekend I was really enjoying the track! Very long and flowing corners all the way through. As always I learned a ton during the weekend. I got some damp laps in as well as a morning with 30 mile an hour winds! It was a good learning experience to try to learn a track over a weekend without having prior experience in a simulator. After this weekend I can definitely attest to the power of sim racing to learn a track!

I have a couple more open passing days to run before I'm ready for competition school later this year. Hoping to be wheel to wheel racing by the fall!

Hi all! Earlier this summer I did my first track day in my 350z at Carolina Motorsports Park. I was instantly hooked and knew I had to find a way to get out there wheel to wheel with other racers. I had always toyed with the idea of spec miata, spec 944, and spec e30, but after spending the weekend with some e30 guys and watching the racing I knew that's the direction I was going to go. I wanted to move quickly on the car so I could work my way towards my competition license in the e30 as I learned the car. I cleaned up my Z really nice and put it on the market. I got a call the same day and it was sold the same week! I talked to some e30 guys and found a guy that was selling his race ready e30 to make room for his e46 build. Now I officially own a race car!

So now I've done some HPDE events as I work my way towards my competition license. I'm expecting to do my competition license check ride in March. I'm so freaking excited to be starting the journey. I'll do periodic updates and let you know how it goes!

I was overjoyed when I found out last Saturday that NASCAR and Sonoma Raceway had chosen for the 2019 MENCS event to return to the Full Course layout for the first time since 1997. As a racing fan and someone who deeply cares about what I consider to be my home track, I wanted to do something to give back and say thank you to everyone involved in making this fantastic change happen.

Thanks to the help of iRacing, I have made an in-car preview of the Full Course layout to share my enthusiasm and show why this decision is so important. I have shared a link to the preview which I've shared on YouTube and sincerely hope that you enjoy it:
