A monumental win by the Champion Motorsports endurance team on iRacing.Com has just been recorded as our team has won their split in the iRacing 24 Hours of Lemans. We entered two cars this year, both in the same split. The cmsracing.com e-deportes team driven by Miguel Alcrudo, Angel Ledesma, Humberto Roca and Miguel Antonio Alcrudo have won the event, in dominating fashion leading the race for well over half of the hours recorded. A flawless drive with no damage on the car and blistering lap times in the low 3 minute 50 second range it was a drive worthy of a win.

Pictured Above CMS Cars at Lemans in 2019

The cmsracing.com esports team entry driven by Paul Hamilton, Jay Dargert, Lowesky Doleo, Scott Roeder, Vincent Marsh and Matthew Overton would also finish. This car had tremendous potential but was involved in an accident about 2 hours into the race, which required a major repair on pit road dropping the car laps down to the leaders. However the team would battle back, finish and show the resolve that we have come to expect from a CMS team with a 31st place finish.

Congrats to both teams, it was truly a team effort and one that all of the drivers at Lemans representing CMS can be proud of. It truly takes a team effort to prepare and enter these races and we could not be more proud of our team!

    CMS-TXL Wednesday Night Racing Series
    2019 Season 2

To continue the success of Season 1, we are kicking off Season 2 with pre-season events that are already in progress, and a change in the format…some of this has already been posted in the forums, but the following will outline the upcoming season format as well as links to registration and rules threads.

This season is different because we will be combining two different series, running on alternate weeks, with points titles for each series as well as an overall combined championship!

Drivers can enter and race in one or both series, although we would love to see as many cars on the track each week as possible!

One series we are racing is the GT3 Sports Car Series, a 10-race season that will follow the official iRacing VRS Endurance Series schedule.

For the GT3 Series we will separate entrants into three classifications: Pro, Am, Silver

All drivers/classifications will race a GT3 series car, which includes the following:

    Audi R8
    BMW Z4
    Ferrari 488
    McLaren MP4-12C
    Mercedes AMG

Each classification will have a Driver’s Championship, and points will be awarded each race to entrants based on their finish within their own class. The classifications will race with assigned car numbers to aide in distinguishing the classes on track during the race, as outlined in the Sign-Up thread found HERE, and number plates for each class that can be downloaded HERE. Use these plates on your personal paint scheme in place of the iRacing default number plates that are located in the templates. Resize the new plates as needed for your vehicle, checking alignment with the existing iRacing plate, and make sure to hide or delete the iRacing plates from your skin prior to the race season. If you need assistance with this, please feel free to contact myself or Miguel Alcrudo, we're always ready to help out!!

We will also have an overall Team Championship for this series. Each team is limited to 4 drivers on the roster, and must be set before the first race of the season. Team Points in each race will be awarded using the awarded driver’s points of the top two finishers for each team regardless of classification. Each team must be registered prior to the first race of the season, and a thread has been made outlining the team based on registration. That thread can be found HERE. Teams with more than 4 drivers need to break up their teams if they want all drivers to be a part of the Team Championship, for example, Alcrudo Racing has created two teams, Alcrudo Racing Red and Blue, and listed their members for each team. Please post in that thread any changes that need to be made regarding the Team Championship. Drivers will not be allowed to move between teams during the season, but a driver that is not part of a team can join a team and score points moving forward at any point in the season.

This series will race every other week beginning on June 12th. You can change your choice of car up to the first race of the official season. If you change to a different car during the season, you will receive a 25 point deduction to your Driver’s points (and Team points should you belong to a team).

All races in this series will be 75 minutes long, and will require a pit stop. Fuel tank capacity will be limited to 80%, so everyone will be forced to stop for fuel at some point, with tires being optional.

On the weeks between GT3 Series races, we will run the MX-5 Club Series, a 10-race season using the Mazda MX-5 2016 Miata with fixed setups, and a schedule that follows the iRacing Official Advanced Mazda series. There will be a Driver’s Championship for this series, but without classifications. All drivers will be scored in the same class each race. The first points race of this season is schedule for June 19th. The idea behind this series is a throwback to the Driver's Development Series here at Champion Motorsports, where drivers can focus more on racecraft and less on setups and pit strategy, as well as enjoy themselves racing in a spec series!

All races in this series will be 40 minutes long, with no pit stop required.

The rules for both series will follow the Champion Motorsports General Competition Guidelines which can be found HERE

*The rules linked to above are required reading by all participants, and must be followed, no exceptions*

Additional rules and or race information will be added to each week’s Race Briefing, which will be posted during the weekend prior to the upcoming scheduled event.

The points system for both series will be as follows:

    1st place - 35 points

    2nd - 32

    3rd - 30

    4th - 28

    5th thru 20th - 26 to 11 [reducing by 1 each position]

Remainder of field - 10 points each

Each driver’s two lowest point results will be dropped to decide the Driver’s Championship.

A driver must complete at least one lap to receive points for a race

The final schedule for this combined series will be posted here when the official iRacing Season 3 schedule is released this week. To aide in everyone scheduling the race events, the following outline should help:

    5/15/2019 GT3 Monza 75

The final word regarding this series is simple....we want everyone to have fun, enjoy themselves, be respectful of others, and be prepared come race night.

Let's keep this simple for everyone involved (including the admins!) and if you have any questions as we head towards another exciting season of racing, please don't hesitate to post them here!!

Thanks everyone, we appreciate everyone's interest in the upcoming season and look forward to racing with you!!

A huge congratulations to the CMS Endurance Team car BETA which has WON at Monza in last Sunday's race, with Brian B, Liam Park and Angel Ledesma behind the wheel!!!! Our 2nd team win of the year and the first for the BETA Car. This win came as a dominating performance for the team as they started from the pole position and led throughout. Angel started the car and did a brilliant job before handing to Liam and Brian to bring it home. The Beta car in our Ferrari GT3 stable has been coming on strong in recent weeks and is aiming for a top 25 in points position in the overall championship out of over 300 cars and teams entered.

They will be looking to build upon a fantastic win at Monza this coming week at Donington Park!

Pre-Season Race - MX-5 Club Series at Daytona Road Course
    Wednesday, May 22, 2019

After last week's race at Monza in the technological rides known at GT3's, this week (and every alternating week throughout the season) we are stepping back and dropping into the Mazda MX-5 Miata for some great racing action. Time to work on blipping the throttle (if you so wish) and finding the braking threshold in these incredibly fun racers!

Now you may ask...so, what makes this series different from the iRacing Advanced MX-5 Series?

Well, for one thing, we didn't want to make it very different, and in face, we wanted to encourage everyone to participate in the office series as well, so just like the upcoming GT3 season, this series will use the same track and layout as the official iRacing series!!

But there are some differences too.

    1. This will be a fixed setup series. The fixed setup needs to be downloaded and placed in the setup folder (.../iRacing\setups\mx5 mx52016) and the server will be set to force this setup for everyone to use.

Setup Download: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachmen...5-baseline.sto (You may have to right click and "download as" depending on your browser settings)

This setup is the same as the baseline setup in iRacing, except that more fuel was put in the tank....why? See #2....

    2. Race lengths will be 40 minutes long. The baseline setup's fuel level was way too close for comfort on making that distance, which is why we are using a modified version. The official series runs 25 and 45 minute races, with the longer length requiring a pit stop. We didn't want to have pit stops, or make these races too long, and 40 sounds about right. After the race, be sure and let us know what you think!

For this series, the admins wanted this to be more fun, less stressful, and still be a way of working on your racecraft and driver development! That's why we went with a baseline setup, so that everyone could spend more time on the track turning laps, and less time tweaking the car. Work on being a faster driver, finding the faster line, and in the race study your competitors and find a way to get past. All of those factors will end up making you a better driver all the way around.

For this week's race, we only want everyone to show up and race, don't worry about car numbers or classifications, we really haven't made decisions on any of that yet. There will be a points championship for this series, the rest will be ironed out soon.

As always, an Orange Zone will be in effect for the first lap of this race:

This zone constitutes the outlined Orange Zone area on the track during the 1st Lap. This zone should be regarded as a PASS WITH EXTREME CAUTION area during the first lap of any race. Should an incident occur because a driver chooses to attempt a pass within this “Orange Zone” the driver initiating the pass will likely be held responsible.

The Orange Zone will run from start of the race to the exit of T3 (exit of the International Horseshoe)

    Notes for the race

Be mindful of cars exiting pits, do not cross the blend line!!

If you wreck, HOLD THE BRAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pit stops are NOT required for this race!

No Incident Count Limit or Fast Repairs (Future events will have an Incident Count Limit)

    Have fun!

Our race night schedule for Wednesday:

Practice - Server opens at 8:20pm Eastern US/7:20 Central US/12:00am GMT

Practice session will be 70 minutes.

Qualifying begins at 9:30pm Eastern US/8:30pm Central US/1:30am GMT

Qualifying will be 10 minutes, 4-lap, solo event with remaining time as a short break before the race starts. This is different from last season, and a test for the upcoming season.

    Race - 40 Minutes

    No Fast Repairs!

    No required Pit Stop

As always, let's have a great time with these cars, it's a long race so don't be "that guy", and after the race come back to the forums and recap your night! We want this to be a very successful part of the CMS Wednesday Night iRacing Series, so please plan on coming out and having fun!

Champion Motorsports Team completes unprecedented 27 Hours of Racing at Nurburgring Green Hell

In what will go down as one of the most memorable weekends in CMS history and one of the funnest, a group of 9 racers, and several other contributors to the team participated in the ultimate test of endurance racing this past weekend in Virtual Germany at Nurburgring Combined Circuit for the 24 Hours of Green Hell on iRacing.com

Starting the weekend was the team of David Anderson, Paul Hamilton, Phil Elmore, Miguel Alcrudo, James Andrew, Daniel Johnson, Mike Tyler, and JT Tami. In a special Livery for the race, the CMS team would drive their familiar Ferrari GT3 car at the Ring. Starting near the back of a 52 car grid after the morning crew decided to start David Anderson from pit lane to avoid first lane carnage. By race end and a full 24 hours later JT Tami would complete the race for the team in 12th place overall a very successful result.

Highlights of the event included Anderson and Paul Hamilton completing the first four hours of the race with only a single incident point, an unheard of and tremendous accomplishment. Phil Elmore would then run the first double of the day and hold off the leader of the race to keep the team on the lead lap for another hour + beyond when Phil was caught. Miguel Alcrudo would turn blistering laps and Daniel Johnson would have our most consistent and quickest stints of the race. Mike Tyler, James Andrew and JT Tami contributed at critical times during the race as well, with Tyler running key night time scenarios and Andrew stretching his schedule on more than one ocassion to contribute. JT Tami would be the last driver to take the car but would be our closer to bring us to the checkers in 12th at race end.

Below is 9 hours of coverage from the team stream.

Watch cmsracing.com endurance team live at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring! from davidantx on www.twitch.tv

As if 24 hours were not enough, the team would set back out again after only 3.5 hours after the race ended to compete in the weekly VRS GT3 Endurance Points race at the same track. Two cars would be entered, led by JT Tami and Mike Tyler driving to an incredible 6th place finish in the BETA Car. What was amazing about this drive by Mike and JT was they were two of the latest driving racers in the 24 and were running on fumes from a sleep and rest perspective, so just amazing driving.

Jay Dargert would join the fray and get in the car with Paul Hamilton and David Anderson in the Alpha car in the VRS GT3 Race. Unfortunately a first lap accident would drop the Alpha team to last place after repairs on pit road, but Hamilton, Anderson and Dargert would not give up as they would methodically drive the car back up to 13th out of 30 by race end for key points in the Championship. That very Alpha car now finds itself leading the Manufacturer standings for all Ferrari's in the Championship as well as 12th overall in points over 300 teams entered.

In a special moment for David Anderson the team manager and founder of CMS, who competed in the race he was quoted coming to the finish after the 27th hour with this. "I was privileged enough to take the green flag for us on Saturday morning at the Ring to get things started. 27 hours later I took the checkers to put a wrap on the weekend for all cars running for CMS at the end. How privilged am I -- and what a special weekend."
