The Champion Motorsports Team plans to enter at least two and as many as four drivers, in the upcoming P1 Gaming GT Sprint Series in another really exciting e-sports venture for the community. The series, beginning on Memorial Day weekend will feature a highly competitive Sprint GT format over the Summer and into Fall of 2019. The CMS A-Team will consist of drivers Jon Uyan and JT Tami. David Anderson is registered as a reserve driver and in hopes of forming a CMS B-Team which will also have one open spot for us to add a fourth driver. If anyone is interested in competing with us in the series please inquire as we would like to consider you on the team.

Here is a preview of the Aston Martin Livery that the team will be running in the Championship

The series includes a unique format of double race weekends with a 20 minute race to start and a 45 minute race to finish with the focus being on team points. The first race will be at Zandvoort on May 25th and commence for 6 rounds between the end of May and October. Full series schedule is available at:

The Champion Motorsports esports team participating in the rFactor 2 events with P1 Gaming and the P1LMS Endurance Series took another huge step this past weekend as the team broke into the points for the first time in the ultra competitive series and really tight GTE Class. Led by Drivers Jon Uyan, JT Tami and Vincent Marsh, the team would score a 12th place overall finish in class, and earn 4 points towards the Championship

In impressive fashion the young team has now finished all three races that they have fun in to show tremendous resolve and improvement each time out. The team will now have a short break for a few weeks before heading to Estoril for another 6 hour race, where the hope is to get Team Manager David Anderson and key member Matthew Overton back in the car as well.

A special thanks to Jon Uyan for filling in for the team this week to help round out the lineup as he played a critical role in qualifying and starting the race for us. Also a shout out to JT Tami who jumped out of the car and then immediately into a seat with the sister CMS iRacing Endurance team at COTA where he helped drive our top Alpha Car Ferrari GT3 to a solid finish at Circuit of Americas (COTA).

Stay tuned to the forums for more information as the prepares to get ready for Estoril in the coming weeks.

The Champion Motorsports esports rFactor 2 team just recently came back from Virtual UK as they competed in the P1 Gaming 8 Hours of Silverstone. This was the 2nd event for the young team and another great learning experience with some solid gains and another race finish under their belts. The team has now been able to say that they have 20 live hours of full racing under their belts with a previous finish in the Suzuka 12 Hours Followed by this performance at the Silverstone 8 Hours.

The driver lineup for Silverstone would consist of JT Tami, David Anderson and Vincent Marsh. Regular Matthew Overton would have to miss the race, and we will look forward to seeing him next time in Homestead Miami. Our focus leading up to the race was on racing and only racing, so it was not a surprise that JT Tami after qualifying would find us 23 of 25 on the Grid. This was short lived however, as JT did a marvelous job moving us up in the first stint into a points position. Things were looking really well until a pop up shower sprung at The Silverstone Circuit that we were not anticipating (lesson learned). This would cause some trouble for the team as most of us did not have many laps in wet weather prep and so it was learning on the fly. David Anderson would take over the car and manage to keep us going, before handing over to Vincent Marsh who did a great job trying to deal with a little bit of damage to the car and work us back up where he could.

In the end, the finish was not what we had been hoping for, with 20th of 25 in the GTE Class, but it was a great day of learning and opportunity to continue to come together as a team and build upon our experiences. The team has shown resolve and will to finish the races and we are extremely confident the finishes we desire are not far away. We will next race on May 11th in the United States at Homestead Miami Speedway. Look for more updates from the team between now and then and if you are interested in joining us please let us know.
