The Champion Motorsports iRacing Endurance Team has completed Round 7 of the VRS GT3 Endurance Series this week at Road America. It was another week that saw one of the team cars finish with a solid top 10. This time it was the Beta Car, Ferrari GT3 Driven by the combo of Paul Hamilton and Jay Dargert. They would move up over 10 spots from where they started for a great finish.

The Alpha car and Omega cars would also have solid results as well. Both cars qualifying for the top split and the Alpha car driving to a 17th place finish and 100 points as the highlight. The Omega team would overcome some early troubles in the race to battle back with a top 25 finish as well.

Leaving Road America the team now finds the Alpha car 16th in overall points out of over 300 teams and the Beta and Omega cars not far back in the top 30 each.

This week the team will make the Nurburgring Circuit and "Green Hell" a primary focus. We will be racing over 27 hours this coming weekend, with first up the 24 hours, followed by an additional 3 in the weekly points race at the very famous circuit. The team now travels back overseas to Germany after what can be considered a very successful homeland stint in the United States the last five weeks.

Stay tuned for more information from Nurburgring this week as we prepare and make the big race.

The Champion Motorsports esports rFactor 2 team just recently came back from Virtual UK as they competed in the P1 Gaming 8 Hours of Silverstone. This was the 2nd event for the young team and another great learning experience with some solid gains and another race finish under their belts. The team has now been able to say that they have 20 live hours of full racing under their belts with a previous finish in the Suzuka 12 Hours Followed by this performance at the Silverstone 8 Hours.

JT Tami Pictured above in our BMW M8 CMS Livery at Silverstone in Qualifying for the 8 Hours (above)

The driver lineup for Silverstone would consist of JT Tami, David Anderson and Vincent Marsh. Regular Matthew Overton would have to miss the race, and we will look forward to seeing him next time in Homestead Miami. Our focus leading up to the race was on racing and only racing, so it was not a surprise that JT Tami after qualifying would find us 23 of 25 on the Grid. This was short lived however, as JT did a marvelous job moving us up in the first stint into a points position. Things were looking really well until a pop up shower sprung at The Silverstone Circuit that we were not anticipating (lesson learned). This would cause some trouble for the team as most of us did not have many laps in wet weather prep and so it was learning on the fly. David Anderson would take over the car and manage to keep us going, before handing over to Vincent Marsh who did a great job trying to deal with a little bit of damage to the car and work us back up where he could.

In the end, the finish was not what we had been hoping for, with 20th of 25 in the GTE Class, but it was a great day of learning and opportunity to continue to come together as a team and build upon our experiences. The team has shown resolve and will to finish the races and we are extremely confident the finishes we desire are not far away. We will next race on May 11th in the United States at Homestead Miami Speedway. Look for more updates from the team between now and then and if you are interested in joining us please let us know.

The Champion Motorsports Endurance Team has just completed another very successful week as three cars were taken and entered at Laguna Seca, and all three cars drove to a finish and solid result. For the third week in a row the Omega Car would lead the way, with an 8th place overall finish of 37 entries. Driven by James Andrew and Miguel Alcrudo the car was fast, consistent and hard to beat. A nearly flawless drive by both James and Miguel would be a team best on the day.

Pictured above in the 2nd stint of Today's Race at Laguna Seca, all three team cars ran nose to tail for about 10 minutes. Led by Mike Tyler and followed by David Anderson and Miguel Alcrudo

Just behind the Omega car was the Alpha car driven by JT Tami and David Anderson also with a very solid finish in 12th place overall and very competitive after starting 24th on the grid. With the drive by JT and David the Alpha car is now a team leading 27th in overall points in the Championship, out of 300+ cars entered in the VRS GT3 Championship. This car is our primary focus to enter every week and it was great to see the car have another solid finish at Laguna Seca.

Rounding out the finishes was the Beta car. This week driven by Paul Hamilton , Mike Tyler , and Jay Dargert. Paul Hamilton did a flawless start in the car and it actually would lead the way for the first hour of the race from the team stable. A little fall back afterwards did not prevent the car from a great finish in 18th overall and all three drivers were rock solid and very consistent. We also debuted new liveries this week for the team provided by Mike Tyler from the Beta car. Additionally most of the engineering and setup work for the overall team this week came out of the Beta stable with amazing efforts from Paul Hamilton and Jay Dargert.

Next week we head to the East Coast for a race at Limerock Park and we are optimistic to be able to bring another strong field and hopefully up to all four cars competing.
Through the first 5 rounds of the season all three cars are very solid in the Championship as follows:

    Alpha 27th overall
    Omega 39th overall
    Beta 40th overall

    Cya next time!

Another first this week for the Champion Motorsports esports iRacing Endurance team as for the first time in team history we would enter a total of four cars in a race. For this week's VRS GT3 Series Enduro at Sebring we had our Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Omega Ferrari GT3 cars all entered. What's even better news is that they would all finish the race. Led by another strong performance from the Omega car, in 11th place overall and a great first drive by Mike Sargent, and one of James Andrew's stronger runs of the year. The Omega car was steady and solid from the drop of the green flag, and it showed with a great finish.

Pictured Above James Andrew drives the CMS Omega Ferrari GT3 to another very solid finish in back-to-back weeks!

Unfortunately a single early race accident collected all three of the other cars, giving them all setbacks of various degrees. Luckily it was somewhat minor for the Beta Team driven by Paul Hamilton and Jay Dargert and they would recover to a solid top 15 finish with 14th overall. It was a bit harder for the newly driven Gamma team in the cars first race. Matthew Overton behind the wheel and paired up with Doug Ritter. They would take a bit more damage, but also recover well for a 16th place overall finish.

The Alpha team was not so lucky as they took the brunt of the damage in the accident caused by another car, and would have to spend 30 minutes on pit road for major repairs. To make things even more dramatic for the Alpha car there was a technical issue and Mike Tyler was unable to get in in the car properly to take over driving duties from David Anderson. However, quickly turning a negative into a positive the CMS Community rallied in a big way. After seeing a cry for help and emergency post Larry Ford jumped in and got in the car for CMS and joined David so that the car could continue and be officially scored. Dropping all the way back at one point to the last place, David and Larry overcame the odds, and drove the car back up to a 23rd place finish and salvaged some critical championship points for the Alpha car.

Four weeks in the Alpha car now finds itself a solid top 25 in overall points of over 300 teams, with the Beta Car in the top 40 and the Omega car quickly gaining after two solid finishes in back to back weeks.

Next up the team will head out West to California and Laguna Seca next weekend for round 5!
