We are very proud to share an exciting announcement between Porsche Club of America and iRacing, in a great e-sports Championship exclusively for PCA members! What makes this even cooler is that our very own Doug Atkinson here at CMS and SimHQ Motorsports has been at the core of this to get it off the ground! Congrats Doug! We hope to see many of our own CMS members who own Porsches in real life and are involved with the PCA take advantage of this.

    Quote and video from Doug:

"Here is one of the reasons I've been so busy lately. I pitched the idea and scope to PCA mid last year and it is just announced. We were working on it long before Porsche made its WCS series announcement. So it fits well with our club which covers North America. First race is broadcast live March 1st."

    NARS Background

The North America Racing Series, or NARS has been a longtime racing series at CMS. But as the woes with rFactor2 evolved and drivers schedules got crazier, so did the enthusiasm for the Thursday Night events intended to appeal to the Americas audience for its "after work" evening race times. The double-digit race grid diminished as the series got deep in races. By the end of a series, NARS was getting down to a few cars and drivers. The bleeding needed to stop.

    Open for business!

From now until Friday, December 14th at 7 PM EST you get to show your mettle (or metal) at the toughest track in the world. And if you're fast enough, you get bragging rights and the pole position for the upcoming Special Event - Ten Laps of The Green Hell.

As announced previously, you can run either the Porsche or the BMW GTE car from the Studio 397 Endurance Pack.

Read the server settings carefully so you understand what is going on...

Server Name: "CMS Nords Hotlap & Qual".
The time is set for 11:00 AM and will not advance in time.
Password: no password on the server.
    Practice: no practice session.
    Qualifying: 60 minutes.
Warm up: no warm up session.
Race: unfortunately the server cannot be disabled for a 2 lap race -- rest, work on setups, or drive it until the server restarts with qualifying.
You cannot advance the server. This is so someone on a hotlap does not lose their time due to an errant server advancement by another driver.

You are welcome to try as many times as you want to obtain the fastest hotlap.
Results will be monitored in the "top 200" fastest laps section of LiveRacers Link: http://cmsracing-com.liveracers.com/...lap%20&%20Qual

On Friday, December 14th at 7 PM EST the server will be closed and the bragging starts! Those who want to run the Ten Laps of The Green Hell need to just show up on race day and be on the server at the time designated in the event thread. Anyone who does not run the Hotlap competition is welcome to run the Ten Laps race, but you will start at the back of the grid.

    Good Luck!

Welcome to everyone who ran previous Champion Motorsports NARS Series and to those new drivers who have not previously run the series.

The CMS NARS Series was created to emulate the IMSA racing series for mixed class endurance racing. It has evolved over several years and the NARS 2018 Autumn Series will introduce some new features and opportunities.

An extended forum thread with much feedback from CMS drivers provided much of the direction to the new series. A significant amount of time has been spent listening to comments, discussing them, and developing the NARS Autumn Series. For those of you who asked for some aspect, format, or car type that was not included, please keep an open mind and join us for this series. We need your support. As it is now, we calculate that many of the numbers of drivers who sign-up for a NARS series will not be around at the last race due to commitments elsewhere that creep up. Once the grid is sustained for a series, we will move back to multi-class racing.

    Series Overview

    • 8 events with the drivers best 6 results counting towards the series championship.
    • There will be two driver designations -- PRO and AM -- and a points championship for each.
    • Races will be 60-minutes in length except Race 8 which will be 120-minutes.
    • A progressive points system to keep the series competitive through the last race.
    • One car and class for this NARS Series: The new Studio 397 Norma M30 LMP3.
    • Open setups plus two baseline setups available to modify.
    • Custom skin uploading available with a special NARS template.
    • Series uses the latest public build of rFactor 2.
