June 16, 2010 ... LAGUNA SECA, USA (CMS) - Since the creation of the iRacing
division at Champion Motorsports, it has become quite common to see a variety of
drivers take that coveted first step on the podium and despite the relative small
fields, the V8 Supercar series has been no exception.

Over the course of the first four weeks of racing, the series has seen four different
pole sitters and four different winners. That string would come to an end at Mazda
Laguna Seca as Charles Stout captured his second pole of the season and Troy Dalton
became the first repeat winner in the series. Stout took an early lead, followed by
Wes Tribble, Dalton, and newcomer Steven Clark. Stout opened up a small gap in the
early going, but was unable to break away from Tribble and Dalton. On lap five Tribble
and Dalton had slightly closed the gap to the leader and were poised to take advantage
of even the slightest mistake. As if on cue, Stout went wide into the Andretti Hairpin
and Tribble took full advantage, diving inside to briefly take over the lead.
Unfortunately for Tribble, he was a little too quick on the throttle and had to make a
heroic effort to not spin exiting turn two. This allowed both Stout and Dalton to get
back by as the group raced into turn three.
Dalton takes over the lead, with Stout and Tribble hot on his heels.
Exiting turn three, it was Stout, followed by Dalton, and Tribble in hot pursuit.
When Stout failed to get a good exit off of three, Dalton made his bid for the lead.
Stout went a little wide into turn four and Dalton kept his Ford V8 tight to the
apex. The two were side-by-side exiting turn four, but Dalton had the momentum and
was able to take the lead entering turn five. The three competitors continued their
battle, but there were no further lead changes. With open track in front of him,
Dalton was able to open up a slight gap over Stout and Tribble and he held on to earn
his second consecutive win of the season.
It was yet another exciting and entertaining race in the Champion Motorsports iRacing division!
