Default 1966 12 Hours of Sebring Cars (Groups #1, 2 and 3) and minor fixes Released!

1966 12 Hours of Sebring Cars (Group #1) by: Stephan Gog

With the 12 hours of Sebring not too far off, and because the PnG mod is one of my all time favorites, I got inspired and have started working on the 1966 cars that ran at Sebring.

PnG 2.1 is required for these cars.

I also worked up a GDB file which will keep these cars together. They won't and should not show up in any other listing or grouping.

Installation Instructions:

Take the GDB file drop it in your GameData folder.

For the cars, Drop folder each one into it's respective car folder inside the Power&Glory folder (located in your GameData/Teams Folder)

A quick note about a few certain cars:

I for the life of me, could not find a template for the MKII. Even after asking around, I never got an answer on the matter, so I had to use the GT40 template and do some "shape shifting". They're not perfect, but I used what I had to go by.

The Chaparral is on a Porsche 906 body, because there isn't a Chaparral model available.

The cars aren't perfect, so if you don't like 'em, don't download them. If you download them and decide you don't like 'em, delete 'em!

And Finally...some pictures -

#10 Roger Penske Corvette Grand Sport

#11 Chaparral 2D

#12 Chaparrel @d

#1 Shelby American INC. GT-X1

#2 Shelby American INC.

#3 Holman & Moody MKII

#4 Holman and Moody MKII

#9 Roger Penske Corvette StingRay

The next batch cars should come along shortly.

All 1966 files can be found in the GTR2 Historic/PnG 1966 download section.
(Certain browser users need to right click on the file name and select "Save Link As")

***PLEASE DO NOT HOST OR POST THESE FILES/PICTURES AT ANY OTHER SITE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!!!***

Charlie

How about a Fun Series event marking Sebring running these cars?

Not a bad idea at all!

Just a quick update, I kind of left something out. For those who aren't familiar with my work, you can get it at www.teamvicecity.com ( I knew I left something out late last night lol!)

Edit: Phil just sent you a PM

Thanks guys!

The second batch of cars from the 1966 12 hours of Sebring race have been released!! They can be found in the same download section.

Screens -
#12 Comstock GT40

#19 Essex Wire Corp GT40

#22 Bill Wonder GT40

#23 Scuderia Bear GT40

#24 Alan Mann GT40

#25 Alan Mann GT40

#35 Jack Slottag Ferrari

Unfortunately there may only be one to two more groups coming. One more for sure but as far as beyond a "full" pack I can't say due to lack of photo's of the field. Not to mention there are a few models still unavailable.
The next pack (of which I've already started work on) is of the Porsche 906's that ran in the 66 Sebring After that may come an Alpine and the Austin's..and maybe a few others if I can track down the materials I need.

Ok this is the last batch for a while. 5 Porsche 906's as well as some minor fixes have been posted up.

First the minor fixes -
Two files have been uploaded for anyone who has seen "ghosting" on certain GT40's. Also a fix has been uploaded that will get rid of the white wing on the MKII. Simply extract the file from the zip, and then copy it to each of the teams car folder, let it overwrite. If your not seeing the white wings on the MKII or not seeing the ghosting on the GT40's then you shouldn't need these fixes.

Now some screen shots -

#48 Otto Zipper Porsche 906

#49 Charles Vogele Porsche 906

#50 Ed Hungus Porsche 906

#52 Porsche System Engineering Porsche 906

#53 Porsche System Engineering Porsche 906

As with all of the files above, they can be found in the GTR2 Historic/PnG 1966 download section at www.teamvicecity.com

Charlie

Looks like the prototype ranks are pretty filled, so getting a few FTs would make it a good race. Looks like some Cobras and Jag E-types raced, so depending on what models of Vette and Ferrari you used you could create some GT O2L competition.

Websites I found pics

Lowther/Grossman 427 Cobra at the Sebring 1966 12 Hours.

That one is actually already in the base PnG, but for the package you and I spoke about it, it's been relocated.

I'm in the process right now of checking out some of the GT cars from 65-67 to try to expand the field a bit.
