Been running it a little bit this evening... ran the 917K at Le Mans, and then a 908/02 on the 1970 Sebring track they also have out.

One note: make sure you use this link to download it, the original one has a bad file and you can't drive the Corvettes. This link has the re-uploaded fixed version:

Maybe we need to do a 1970 1.2 Hours of Sebring as a Fun Race later this year... (hint, hint Phil!)

    Default I'll be there!

I've only run the 911, 914 and the Mustang so far but I love the way the cars feel -- slippery but not completely out of control. This could be the GPL for the sports car set...

Here's a link to their 1970 Sebring track if you don't already have it:

I downloaded and drove the mod a bit this weekend, and here are some thoughts. Because of the commonality with the P&G mod for GTR2, I'll be using that as a benchmark for comparison.

Graphics: Functional. You could justify this as being low-poly so you can run big fields, but the bottomline is P&G looks far better. But there are a ton of cars in here that are not found elsewhere, so who is complaining?

    Sounds: Quite good

Physics: Fun to drive, but not as "alive" as P&G. Why? The biggest thing probably relates to the tire model. In P&G you can feel a difference in grip as the slip angle changes, which is the heart of the feel of sliding the cars in P&G. In World Sportscar 70 the grip does not seem to vary much with the slip angle. I could slide the cars, but while the grip levels seemed historically low there was not as much driver adjustments that needed to be made on the throttle and the wheel to keep the drift going. If you look at film from the era, you see the drivers sawing the wheel as the car hangs its tail out. A second example are the brakes. In P&G you could feel a significant difference in bite on initial brake application on cool brakes, then rising bite as the brakes warm, then brake fade as they overheat. I did not sense this in World Sportscar 70.

As far as using these in a Fun Race, I'm all for it. I would caution against running them on the VLM Le Mans 77 track as the hump makes the cars fly uncontrollable. I then ran the cars on Riverside and Rd America for some good fun without problem.

I agree, definitely not up to the level of P&G, but still pretty cool.

Sounds like CSGT just released Daytona 1970 and LeMans 1970 tracks, and released an update to the Sebring 1970 track.

Hit their website, then go to "Projects -> rFactor -> Tracks" in their site nav to find them. I haven't tried them yet, so can't comment on them.
