    Default Vertical Sync

    Vertical Sync:
A couple weeks ago some guy posted at rFactor Central a setup guide for nVidia graphics cards.
    http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail...hix%20Settings

Anyway...I've been fooling around w/ this stuff for a long time and have tried just about every setting in the world including Vsync but never really gave it much thought until I read this guys recommendations.
He recommends using Vsync as to not over-work the video card and keep it running cooler and I guess that makes sense in fact my cards do run cooler now that I've been using Vsync but what I really noticed was the smoothness from running Vsync.
I didn't notice it at first in fact I couldn't see any difference at all until I had been using Vsync about a week and then fired up another rFactor instance w/o Vsync on and WOW! what a difference.
Without Vsync I get about 150-350 fps and I always thought that would be as smooth as you could get..nope
After a week or two of running w/ Vsync on I'm hooked
Try it for a week and see what you think

Bob I have vsync on also. Here is the biggest factor for me. My video card runs most times around 38 degrees c. . In rfactor without vsync it has gone into the 80's. With vsync it never goes above 50 degrees and usually is only 47-48.

    I have a MSI 9600gt

Bob did you have any slow down at all last night ?

I followed you suggestion and switched on V-Sync in both my video card configuration and rFactor config program, I had a little bit of video slow down on the formation lap last night but after that it held steady at 60-61 fps the whole race. I even turned up some of detailes before the race, thing looked a bit better with no performance issues.

    Thanks for the suggestion......

Wow! I had half that stuff turned off. GTX8800 and a dual core e-6600 cpu.
I set everything as suggested and I run 60-61 fps, seems very smooth and
better overall graphics. Been wondering for a year how to configure rFactor and this vid card.

    Good stuff!
