Have they given any ideas on a release date yet?
Drive it like you stole it.....
Foolishness to one........ breath of life to another
They have been saying by the end of 2010, so that means probably first quarter of 2011... I would expect it out by March or April of 2011.

It's probably just me but I find I have more than enough things to worry about driving around a track that behaves the same way for the length of a race, much less having to worry about dynamic surface changes and reduced visibility.
Looks nice though, just don't know if having league races in those conditions will be conducive to anything more than driver frustration.

I agree, maybe 1Q 2011, no later than July or so, lol.
Looking forward to a dynamic track, and weather. Even though, it may not get used a lot, CMS, ERL, and other leagues will certainly want the option. I once drove 3hr endurance race at Assen, in GTR (1)!, where we had sunshine, thunder, rainstorm, and back to sunshine at the end. Added a great dynamic to the experience.
We've run several rain events in the Fun Series, and the feedback has been great from most people. You simply have to drive differently. We did not see any particular increase in DNFs either. This Sunday's Le Mans event using GTR2/P&G will have random weather turned ON.
That said, the car in the screenshot needs some rain-x or something!
Maybe it's just me, but all the external cockpit objects appear ghosted, giving it a double-vision effect.
Rain graphics are kind of like smoke -- it looks wonderful in a screenshot or video but it's MURDER on your frame rate, which is why, even with a pretty stout computer, I keep my special effects graphics on low. It would probably be the same with this.
But the physics is much more interesting to me. If it's done right, it's a whole new ballgame, and as the commentators always say, it's the great equalizer, which is always a plus for drivers like me.
