The problem I have had with attempts to install the lite version is that it asks for an activation code. I have rFactor on DVD; no activation code.

Consequently, I have not used the lite version when making multiple installs. But it would save me a lot of space if I could.

Charlie, I don't know this for certain, but I suspect it might work:

After installing rFactor lite, copy over the rfactor.exe from your DVD version, replacing the rfactor.exe in your rfactor lite install. See if that does the trick.

I have the DVD version also, but I haven't tried installing rfactor lite and trying this yet.

With the DVD version, you should be able to contact Trimedia with your registration information, to get your activation code. This will allow you to install the online version of the game. Most people don’t enter there e-mail during install and so never receive it.

Link 11. Takes you to the activation info.

Thanks Darryl. I left a question with customer support. We'll see what they do.

I checked with Trymedia. They referred me to rFactor to get the activation code. Here is rFactor's response. I have not tried it yet.

If you have the DVD version of rfactor, no activation code is required nor is one provided.

We do not directly provide/support the rfactor lite version. Perhaps somewhere in the community there is a lite version posted for the DVD version as there is for the digital download version.

Otherwise, you can simply try installing the rfactor lite version, then copy the rfactor.exe file from your DVD to your rfactor lite installation folder, then run the game using your DVD.
