Practice for Trois...

John....and anyone else of course...who wants to jump on the VOR server tonight and turn some laps at Trois? It depends on a few factors with my schedule, but I should be able to jump on by 9:30pm (10pm at the latest)

Sooooooo....even though I absolutely HATE this track, I see it as being a pivotal race in not only the points (which I have absolutely no bearing in), but also as a testament to who can drive with the coolest, calmest demeanor in a race that will be 59 laps long....

I see 15 wing and low tire pressures and only worry about learning how to hit the apex of the turns....the rest will be "it happens when it happens" kind of racing in my opinion.

I'm having a bout with that spyware that somehow, from somewhere leached onto my machine...I think it was from one of those add-on cars, but I don't know...but I did a format and re-install tonight...don't have everything back in place yet, but I do know that all is well now...thank goodness.

I want to practice Trois though...and if anyone could post some laptimes for a basis to start with, that'd be great.

Sorry I didn't make it John...but I really want to turn some tomorrow night....and I have something I'm going to post tomorrow to try and help us all have a little more fun

Hey Tim, that's cool... Sorry to hear you had to reformat. Ughh...

I ran some offline just to start practicing. I'm able to do a 1:08 flat, in about 15 laps of practice. sucks hardly ever getting out of 3rd gear. lol I hit 5th in the long straight, but only 4th gear on the other two straights.

I'll be running some later tonight (9:30 ish). Not sure about tomorrow night, as we're going downtown Chicago for dinner. I'm not sure what time we'll get back home.

Anybody else run any laps here yet? Any other times? I really wish we could change the gearing on the PCC cars for this track. 1:08 wasn't really pushing it at all, so I figure we can probably drop another couple seconds by the time of the race. On rFRank website, there are about 50 laptimes recorded for PCC at Trois. The top 3 laps are 1:04 and 1:05, all by the same guy, but who knows if that's a warp lap, or the guy was cutting somewhere (not sure where you could cut a corner though. lol).

The next 30 times are all between 1:07 and 1:09, so trying to get a qualifying lap around 1:07, and race laps at 1:09 should be good. You'll be lucky if you get one clear lap by yourself without traffic the entire race (or at least until half of the field is wrecked out... lol)

I finally got it installed, did the unlimited funds thing on rFactor

I still have to download my car again. But i am ready to start running a little again.
