Default Laser Scanned Track for rFactor

    Did you see this?

    http://www.bobstrackbuilder.net/laser_scanning.aspx

Someone used a laser scanner to do Easter Creek....this is the same process used for the tracks in iRacing, and the track is getting tremendous reviews at rfactorcentral!

I haven't tried it yet, but it looks incredible in the screenshots posted at both places...post here if you've tried it out!

I've been playing with it. The textures are horrible, but the track surface is awesome. I love it.

I actually formed a V8Factor build to play with and I originally had this version of Eastern Creek, but then removed it in place of the older version. Like someone stated earlier the environment is just off. This track environment looks more like what I would expect Miller MP to look like. Don’t take me wrong it is a good track, but it needs a little work, and shouldn’t be in the HOF yet.

The below picture will show the vegetation that is missing from the Laser Build.

This is an awesome track! So it won't win a beauty contest. Who cares? When I get on a track I get on it to race, not look at all the eye candy. Don't get me wrong, a complete track is one that is graphically pleasing too. But there are so many tracks out there that "look" pretty, but drive like shit. This track has it where it counts, and that's where the rubber meets the pavement.

I did some testing on it when it 1st arrived. The future of tracks in the sim world is going to be awesome. Wait till you get a load of the birds flying by...LOL. We are in for a treat as the future comes to us. As i recall not to bad on the FPS as well.

Just to clarify, I think the track drives great, but I feel that it is more of a WIP then a HOF. Not to say it shouldn’t be there one day.

I agree with that Daryl. It shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame until it is a full package. They are lacking in the Graphics department. But I would still race this track over some of the tracks I have raced, graphics or no.
