Jerry McComas wins first ever CMS rFactor 2 Race in the Meganes at Sepang

Congratulations to Jerry McComas for winning a small but important event here at Champion Motorsports. Last night we held our first ever official race with the new rFactor2 simulation from ISI. For the event we ran in the included Megane cars at the Sepang North Loop Circuit.



Jerry would take the win, in what was a small but very exciting and fun race. We saw multiple lead changes, and very close racing in the top three, with Jerry, Eric Elliott and David Anderson all leading the race and/or chasing each other at various points of the event. John Tami and Paul Hamilton also ran, with Hamilton overcoming some early race jitters to set the fastest lap of the session.

More importantly we gained a lot of valuable information and the test race was a big success. Everyone learned some more about the sim, and we also got great data and feedback from the test to help us plan for future events. In positive news there were no major issues to report with the sim core, server, or performance issues for any of the drivers. We'd also like to thank Dave Slee, and Kevin Wood for coming out to help test as well, and even though they were unable to race in the event, they helped with the learnings.

We will be scheduling future events for fun on selected dates in order to give all of our members the opportunity to test and experience rFactor 2 in a controlled race setting while learning from each other. Congrats again to Jerry for winning the first ever race at CMS on the new platform and cya on the track!

Yeah, race was good, not a single issue. Only my 2nd time driving rFactor2, need to get used to grip levels. But was fun!
