    Default Help!!!!

OK, My instance of rFactor for ILMS started giving me a vehicle mis-match when the session changed from practice to Q or Q to race. Couldn't figure out why so decided to make another instance of rFactor and copy game data folder and User data folder to it.

NOW the new instance locks up after the splash screen. Trace file says can't find ILMS/Pace Car.dds but it's there.

HELP!!... What do I do now? Where can I look. HELP!!!

EDIT: I copied another working instance of rFactor and now got it working. BEFORE I coped it over I VERIFIED that I got NO mismatch errors. After copying RFM's and Game data folders to new instance I NOW get the mismatch again! ARGGGGGHHHHHH

MUST be in the ILMS mod somehow. Going to re-download all skins and patches and see if that fixes it.

Edit 2: ALL new copies of skin packs and patches... STILL mismatch...... I'm at the end of my rope... Don't know where to go from here.

Mike you state that all was ok untill you copied over the RFMs,I will send my RFM folder to the storage site for you if you want them, might not have all of yours in there but the ILMS one will be.I could zip up my GameData folder [well the ILMS parts anyway] too if that might help,it might as I think you have a corrupted file somewhere.
BTW,have you over written any of your file with the next update, without knowing it.?

Thanks to some some moral support from Phil Elmore and a COMPLETE reinstall of EVERYTHING I now have a working system again.

Phil was a BIG help in allowing me to bounce things off of and helping me sort out all the loads / patches / updates necessary to get this beast operational. Thanks again Phil. I OWE you one.

We REALLY need to simplify this process!!!!

Glad you got it working again Mike. I think a more simple process may be coming soon.

I have a very simple solution to aviod the constant confusuion I see every week related to people not always having the correct carset updates ect...

As we now combine both the NA and World cars together in one carpack there is absolutely no reason to have more than one carpack DL link and any time and it should be located ONLY on the subscriber and DL file section of the forum.

This can be done by simply an admin or deligate updating that one file everytime there is an add on or update and updating that link. THis way new members know where to get the latest pack cause the link is always going to be the latest. And when members show up for pract and someone has a mismatch no more looking thru the NA forum for that part, and the world forum for this other part, ect....

Ive often wonder why it wasnt that way a long time ago seeing as how there is always at least one guy scrambling last min just before race time trying to hunt down all the correct file just for one carpack..

    Just my 2 cents

I agree Brian. We WILL implement a process to simplify the process BEFORE next season.

We have some VERY talented people here at CMS and we plan on asking them to assist in this process and to help keep everything up to date.

We have already consolidated almost everything into a "self installer". Now we just need to streamline the update process.

By "everything" are you talking about only carpack related, or all the various ILMS "fuel patch" ect...that one would need to get started at CMS?

YOu know an "everything you need' to go racing installer would be amazingly sweet!
