    Default Getting rFactor organized!

With all the new rFactor mods that have come out in the last couple of weeks,I've noticed that my rFactor install was not only becoming huge but also was getting bogged down.
I would start rFactor and sit and wait for it to load up..... ..and wait......and wait some more!
Now..I have a pretty fast computer w/ 2 10,000 rpm HD's in raid 0 so there shouldn't be any wait
Long story short, the more mods I loaded into rFactor the slower it had become.
    So...decided to try something new,
I did a brand new install... and then stripped it of all the tracks..rfm's...vehicles,vehicle sounds, movies, songs,.bik files...everything except for the game itself.
I don't use the stock cars or F3's or Toban or any of that stuff so why have it.
Then I loaded the new '79 mod and it's tracks, Hudson skies, the MoTeC plugin and my trusty old .plr file
End result...I have the fastest running rFactor I have ever had,
it loads instantly and plays so much smoother...what a difference.
Now I have 3 rFactor installs,VOR series,1979 F1 series and an install for all new stuff to try out!
It's like having stand alone games instead of one game that tries to do it all.
Much better I think!...Much faster anyway...takes up a little more room but not as much as you might think.
The stripped out rFactor game isn't all that large, its all the useless stuff in it that is HUGE!

Here's my desktop... all my racing stuff is on the top right hand side.

    Bob,

I'd like to give that a try with rFactor. Do you have a list of what you removed?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm currently running rFactor in Vista, and while everythig's fine, I don't know if this arrangement can be supported in Vista due to your personal profiles, set-ups, screenshots, etc. are saved in a personal folder outside of the installation.

I'll keep investigating this though, as I used it in XP and it worked great, and would love to do that here as well.
