Field of View is not the same as the seat position.

Seat position is just what it says...it adjusts the position of the camera (your head) within the cockpit forward, back, up and down.

The Field of View has more to do with emulating your peripheal vision by changing the visible angle from left to right of camera center.

If you set the FOV to 65 (which is what I use), then you will see a 65 degree viewable area that has the center vertex of the angle at your head position (camera). If you change it to something like 100, it will increase the amount of track you see from left to right, but it will also create a more narrow appearance to the track ahead.

Some say by setting the FOV higher you are better able to just speed due to having more objects next to you, whereas with a lower FOV angle gives you a more realistic perspective of everything but limits your peripheal vision. If you use something like IRtrack or the look left/right buttons, you can use a lower FOV and still see everything around you of course.

The reason I use 65 is simply because most of the sims I have used over the years have been set to 65 by default, or that's what I used so it feels correct to me. Also, the sensation of speed isn't nearly as high with the lower FOV, so I'm not overwhelmed with that feeling either.

World movement is one of those things that is a preference thing....and you may end up changing it from track to track, but I use 25% myself just to get enough feedback from the track without getting bounced all over the place.

    Hope this helps!

The FOV setting is in the same area with wheel displayed, number of cars shown ahead, and so forth.

The default is 34 I think. Mine is set at 67. Increasing it will do wonders for you.
