F1-S-R has released their Formula One 1994 mod for rFactor, adding another quality historic F1 season to the simulation.
The mod lets you relive one of the most remarkable seasons in Formula One history, a year that provided both thrilling racing and heartbreaking drama – From Interlagos all the way to Adelaide.
The tragic events of 1994 are also taken into account as the mod is dedicated to Ayrton Senna & Roland Ratzenberger who both tragically lost their life at the Imola round of the 1994 season.
The mod comes as so-called League Edition with equal physics for all cars that ensure close online racing competition.).
Would be bloody awesome to do some funevent with this mod or so. It comes as LE = league edition which means you can win the race with whichever car you race, the physics are all the same. There is so much love and passion inside this mod that you simple are stunned just clicking through all the cars in the menu, selecting a driver, go to SKINS and see some 1-10 different skins this driver had during the whole season and then you realize that with UPGRADES you can even add High-Downforce wings and Bargeboards to the car. Superb stuff!
Coming to the next point, the sounds, you really will never drive another F1-Mod again. When the cars go past the TV-cameras you almost think this is already GTR3s soundengine. McLaren passing by, its Peugeot powerhouse screaming your ears to absolute death, then the Williams with its stunning Renault engine leaves the corner and in the further distance you can here the engine brabbeling and winding itself until you get finished off with these great down and upshift sounds they included.
A so called HE = historical edition of the Mod is coming aswell, which then will have proportionate differences between the cars so a Minardi is just as fast as a Minardi and not in reach for a McLaren or Williams. But I'd like the idea of doing some crazy races with the LE where everybody has the same car based on physics and you can choose the car you like most on graphics (I love the old Lotus, damn it's a sexy F1 car lol). The physics feel real and good, the cars are a blast to drive on the limit but they are still controllable once you figuered out how to use the throttle. TC and ABS both are not required to drive, these cars do have some grip - effectively more than the P1/P2 cars in Endurance Series ever will which is mainly down to the active-suspension era which lasted until Sennas crash in 1994.
I hope you see how excited I am about this absolute brilliant mod (despite I am a horrible Formula-Car driver). I never did a posting about a specific mod on any forums since almost 3 years now... but this one is worth it. I promise you this is the second best F1-Mod I ever came across yet, and I do have about 30 here on my HDD including some not yet released WIP material - but this is just better.
