    Thanks to Eddie for his great support.
    Hints:
    1) If you are unsodisfied of the FFB try looking at the upgrades section, there are some alternative settings to try.
    2) there are only 8 cars in this demo so set AI Drivers in Settings/Advanced Rules to 7 to avoid dupes.
    3) it has been tested to run on both tracks released with this demo, using it on alternative tracks can lead to unpredictable results.
    4) TV cameras are still in the works.
    5) It has been tested on 1070 and 1087 versions of the game only.It seems AI's has grip troubles with 1087
    6) it should run on all DX levels, on my pc at least
    7) This product is not targeted for low-end pc's,video cards with 128mb dedicated vram are the bare minimum.
    8) It has not been tested a lot on net play, so offline use of this demo is recommended.
    9) We don't accept responsibilities for losses or damage resulting from the use of this mod.Always backup your data.
    10) The material provided with this mod is not connected to Image Space Inc. All the logos are TM of respective owners.

    This demo will not include all the features of the final product and may be bugged, if you think you can help on specific
    things just let me know at my contact address to discover if any position in the team is vacant.

    PHYSICS:

    The physics for this mod were developed using real world data or aproximations, with some values and equations being compromised for the sake of simplicity. The goal was to simulate handling, performance and reliability with as faithfully as we could. There are however a few known, hopefully minor innacuracies that might still be fixed by the time we reach the full version.

    The cars featured in this demo are the four race-winning models from the 1979 season, each of them with their particular strengths and weaknesses but very close in the overall pecking order.

    The championship-winning Ferrari 312 T4 is as effective as it was in real life, with docile handling, plenty of downforce and no shortage of power from the V12 boxer engine.

    The Williams FW07 won several races in the latter part of the season and it?s arguably the quickest car overall, being the lightest, nimbler machine with the most effective aero package, though with slightly fewer HPs from the legendary Cosworth-DFV compared to ferraris and Renaults.

    The Ligier JS11 was also powered by the Cosworth-DFV and with it won the opening rounds of the championship, but later failing to sustain a championship winning form. It remained as one of the season?s front running teams however, courtesy of a competitive car with no major short-comings.

    The Renault RS11 was one of the later versions introduced by the french manufacturer during the course of the 79 season. Renault pioneered the turbo-charger techonology in the late 70?s and by 1979 it was beginning to reap the dividends. What it had in power however it still lacked in other areas such as driveability, and in particular reliability.

    All cars featured fully manual gearboxes, so the driver who is used to semi or fully automatic transmissions might need a few laps to adapt to the rougher nature of these boxes, particularly on downshifts. For a more fulfilling driving experience, it?s recommended to turn off aids such as auto-clutch in game, and auto-lift and auto-blip in the .plr file.

    There are two choices of tires in this mod: Regular race tires and Qualifying tires. The race tires should allow the driver to cover an entire GP distance without the need for a pitstop, which weren?t anyway the norm back in the day. The qualifying tires provide sticky rubber developed to last one single flying lap, so be careful not too push too hard in the out lap in order not to run out of grip by the end of the qualifying run. Also worth noting that there weren?t tire warmers in 1979, so take it easy on the first few corners on cold rubber.

    The damage model aims to model the fragility of a Formula 1 car, so with damage setting at 100% there?s pretty little one can get away with without damaging a wing or bending a suspension. Likewise, consistently running on the rev limit and / or speed-shifting will stress and overheat the engine to the point of failure.

    Though power steering was not yet used in F1 at the time, we?ve made an exception to make available three steering assist options in the upgrade menu, so that the driver can customize force feedback level to his own taste. Default is the lightest.

    Last but not least, this being the era of ground-effect technology be sure to pay special attention to suspension and ride height settings. The default setups should provide however a decent enough starting point in most tracks.

    Known bugs from this demo:

    - Monaco track cameras still unfinished;
    - Collision detection is not tuned for wheel-to-wheel contact;
    - Auto-clutch aid is not working very well from a stand still; To get off the line the recommended procedure is to use manual clutch; with the car engaged on 1st gear, keep the clutch pedal (or button) pressed, and release it at 7000-8000 RPM.

    Special thanks to:

    - Bristow from the RSC forums for putting together some immensely helpful tutorials on physics editing for ISI?s simulators;
    - Dave Purdy from RSC forums, for creating his handy Physics Editor;
    - RSDG, whose steering assist upgrade idea from the Megane Trophy mod we adopted, and for providing a good reference point with their damage file;
    - All the beta testers who helped develop the mod;
    - Max Angelo and the peoples at Autosimsport Magazine

    08-Aug: F1 1979 Update
    An update to the already excellent F1 1979 has been released to address minor issues and maximize game engine updates in 1150. It previous 1150 fix is no longer necessary and should be replaced with this update.
