    Default Car management in RFACTOR

Just learning RFACTOR offline , and i was going to create a carset to race with offline. Does it have the same features of nr2003 has like the ability to choose what cars your race with sort of like a roster you can choose for different races? And does it have the ability to tweak the ai skill points for each driver like nr 2003? I am trying to adopt this game as my new racing sim but it seems like it's missing some key features , either that or i am having trouble finding them!

When you go to Race Weekend or Practice, you will have three tabs to choose from on the main window, one of which will allow you to add which car types to allow to race. As for the AI, that is something that rFactor is somewhat lacking on, but there are multiple AI files that load and each one should act a bit different, but from the best of my knowledge, you can not adjust these individually, only as a group.

I have never played NR 2003 so I am not 100% sure if this is what you were asking for, but I hope this helps

I don't race with rfactor's ai as they just make me mad. They act like you are not even on the road, and wreck you wantonly and repeatedly. Maybe someone else has some ideas on how to make them better.

I'd suggest just learning to run the tracks and then joining the Fun Series or DDP to race others. We aren't as likely to smash you!

If you really want to run against AI, my only suggestion is GTR Evolution which has much improved AI. They are more careful around you, and will race you pretty fairly. Not perfect, but ok.

Also, there are many public rfactor servers. Some are quite good, but others are absolute nightmares with foul-monthed kids wrecking others for fun (especially the Megane servers). Enter at your own risk.

You can run with the AI somewhat successfully if you keep the aggressiveness level to around 65%...they'll back off a lot more instead of trying to force their way in when passing.

The AI is terrible in rFactor. There's just no way to sugar coat it, but they can be raced against and dare I say fun at times. Here are some tips:

    1) AI is really only as good as the AIW. Some tracks are better than others, but you can easily remedy this. Here are some step-by-step procedures for correcting the AIW.

    2) Turn down the AI aggression and/or turn down damage sensitivity. The AI are dumb as door knobs and will routinely beat your car too death. You'll need to adjust this for your own tastes, but I usually turn the aggression way down (0-25%) and damage to (75-90%).

    3) Give the AI your setup. Actually, you should probably do this before training the AI. Here's how to do it.

    Good Luck and happy racing.
