Default 5770 Smoke and Fire!!!! Help!!!

    LOL!

OK so I have the new 5770 in and running, and everything looks great, I can run 30+ cars with no issues looks great and with vSynch I hold 60 flat with no problem, unless ther is a nasty spin.

when there is a huge cloud of Smoke I get crazy FPS drops. A few weeks back someone mentioned a way to turn this down, well I would love to get that info please, cause that is the only problem I am having at the momment.

    Thanks in advance.

    Dayrl,

The only comments I can find in the users .plr file that deal with smoke are the following:

"Vehicle Flow Radius="4.00000" // Vehicle sphere radius for smoke/flames/dust/spray
Vehicle Flow Offset="3.10000" // Offset below vehicle where sphere center is located
Engine Emitter Flow="0" // Whether engine smoke/flames flow over emitting vehicle
Tire Emitter Flow="0" // Whether tire smoke/dust flow over emitting vehicle
Smoke Flow="0" // Whether all smoke/flames/dust flow over non-emitting vehicles"

The bottom 3 were set to "0" by default in my install, you might check yours. Also try reducing the value on the 1st 2. Other than that I think the only way to get rid of, or reduce the amount of smoke would be to try turning down the "special effects" settings in your setting/display/special effects of your main rFactor menu.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah I turned a bunch of stuff down. It took me about 2 months to get the 9800 to where I wanted it, and I am sure the same will go with this guy.
