Kudos to you guys for heading to the track..

But those are some awfully pretty Miatas that are getting the workover....

Oh James that is an easy trap to fall into with any fine car but think about it for a sec. True those are a couple of very fine Miatas, but to say a proper sports car is too pretty to go to the track is lhe very same as saying a proper woman is too pretty to be your wife. Both were well designed for their intended purpose and neither would have a happy existence if they were not loved and enjoyed as they were meant to be. Besides have you ever seen a Miata on the track that didn't have a smile on her face?

My thinking was there has to be plenty of caged and track prepped Miatas out there on the market without having to modify what appear to be two really nice road cars.

But in Phil and Dave's favor, their cars are not "track fried" and you are starting with known quantities...

yeah, and the bigger thing is both of our Miata's are still very much mostly road cars, sometimes track cars. I wish I had a big garage and could keep a track car and my road car, but I do not.

Then again, you are not worrying too much about the track prepped MINI's

I know Mazda made a lot of Miatas..but are really nice, clean examples easy to find, such as the one's you and David own?

Yes, there are. Many are very nice because they are 3rd or 4th cars to the owners. It is said the biggest competition to a new MX5 is all the used Miatas.

The last 6 months I have been working on my Miata Project. I am finally able to share a pretty complete report of the cars transformation. I hope you can all see this.

This is my do everything car. Currently has a cam, headers and supercharger pulleys. Puts down 700+ on 91. Someday I will get my vintage racer, but this thing is an absolute blast.

Then there is my Verde at Thunder hill. Sold that one.
And my Alfetta which is under restoration in the garage.
