The preorder starts tomorrow... I can't wait! I'm probably going to but two copies of Win7... I plan on using it as a base for exanding the integration of my home.

I made the leap to Windows 7 Ultimate and I must say that I'm damned impressed. Total bare metal installation, including re-installation of iRacing was well under an hour and a half!
I only had two minor problems with Win 7.
1) I needed to flash the bios, but couldn't with Win 7. So, I literally had to re-install XP, flash the bios, and then re-install Win 7. A little time consuming, but worth the effort and relatively painless.
2) Windows update tried to update my HD 3870 X2 video driver, but that ended in an epic fail...I.E. BSOD. I downloaded the latest Catalyst Drivers and manually installed them with no further issues.
I'm still playing with the system, but so far I'm impressed with the fact that everything "Just Worked" and I haven't needed to dig through my stacks of CD's for drivers. Also, the search capabilities is awesome. I couldn't find the "Run" for a DOS window, so I typed "cmd" in the search box and lo and behold there it was. Same thing with the Disk Management tool. I didn't even bother looking for the icon, I just typed it in the search box and there it was.
