Default Looking to get into rally...

Unfortunately, however, my computer can't handle the RBR demo. It freezes up every time I make a mistake and go off track.
What would you guys recommend as for rFactor mods?
I'm not too shabby at Gran Turismo 5, but apparently, the physics aren't that great. And DiRT 3 is also supposedly to aradey.
What are the basics I need to know?

Hey Thomas! there was a great mod called "rallyworld" 4.0 made by a spanish community that had some great models and physics for rfactor, also there are many long rally stages available to download at rfactorcentral. Hope you can get the demo sorted out and can join us in RBR

Thomas it may not be that your machine cann't handle RBR, the demo can be currupt or your video settings are incorrect, what are your computer spec's ?

    Minimum Requirements:
    CPU: 1,6GHZ
    RAM: 256MB
VGA: 64MB Video Card (Card must support Pixel Shading)
    DX: DirectX 9.0
HDD: At least 3.10GB HD space
    Sound: DirectX compatible soundcard

    Recommended System Requirements:
    CPU: 2.6GHZ Processor
    RAM: 512MB
VGA: 128MB Video Card (Card must support Pixel Shading)
    DX: DirectX 9.0
HDD: At least 3.10GB HD space (for RSRBR 250gb)
Sound: Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

I look into it a little more later to tonight.
I have 2-4 gb of RAM iirc, and 4 2.4 gHz processors.
I'm not sure about everything else, as I said, will look into it more later tonight.

    Thanks!
Gonna look for Pikes Peak now.

If I can get RBR going, I'll practice and stuff with you guys until I feel good enough to drive.
    Do you guys do co-drivers?

EDIT: All the download links I could find are for megaupload. :/
EDIT 2: Nevermind, found a rapidshare.

If your machine can handle rFactor, it should be able to handle RBR no prob. However since it is an older game, it can be finicky on newer machines. If you do get the full game there is a patch you can try and see if it fixes your issues, also the RSRBR mod goes a long way to fix the game for newer machines. It is a big DL and install tho, nearly 20Gb with all the cars and tracks.

    Hmmm.
Couldn't get RBR demo to work. If I can get into rally on rFactor, perhaps I'll get the full version and see if that works instead.

As for the rally world mod, none of the packs, not even the base mod, come with .rfm files?
Probably doesn't help that I can't read Spanish. lol

Anybody else have a good mod?

And do you guys use co drivers when you go to compete? That's something I'd like to try out.

Thomas its just a hunch but me thinks the demo might be the problem. You can purchase Richard Burns Rally right here at CMS. You can simply load the game and see if it works. My quess is it will. Put it on another drive besides the C drive if you are running win7. For under 20$ you can find out. If you decide you dont like the game or it still wont work, I am sure someone will buy it from you. A copy of Richard Burns Rally is "gold". http://cmsracing.com/champion/forums...cing-Store-59/

If the game does work, then we can go from there.

Yes we do co drivers and no I cannot recommend ANY other rally simulator. None compare..
    Cheers

OK, you've talked me into it. I suppose I can find $20 somewhere.
Those were my thoughts as well.

Probably will get it this Sunday.
