    Thanks Joe.

Wow...32 heads. First season with AMS. Thats awesome.
I hope we can be more participative than some of our fellows at the NARS section, where we had more than 50 signs and on race days struggle to get 20 drivers.

I would but unfortunately I work Thursday evenings - it's lucky I'm able to stay with my Monday and Tuesday leagues. That being said, 20 drivers is still nothing to sneeze at.

    I know... Thank you.

I had found a way to lower the shine something like "satin"... I finished my skin!

I'm down right fed up with this graphic thingamajig.

All skin sent and track file too.

There is a skins patch available. I have updated the main skin pack so you can either re-download the main skin pack or use the patch.

How does one go about learning to create custom skins? I have always wondered...

    Wow Kurt!

Not the place... but, it's actually not difficult... not at all.

Here, for the RSR74 mod, it came with a bare template, the actual surfaces of the model. When it's not supplied, one has to go into a car folder, pull the main car body file and remove everything from it. A few additional step to perform before starting to paint our own stuff. When you do your first, it's like "I could have done that to all mods a long time ago"... until you hit something that is simply not done. Like me here, removing all shine so I get a dull car in flat primer, matte, with no light reflection. Darn stupid Alpha channel... NOW I understand what it is and how to NOW work with it but I could have lived without it. Well... slept during those nights.

    1- Painting program:
Gimp2 is free and works well.
PaintShop Pro works very well for everything but the version I got (XI, 2006) ain't too good with Alpha Channels. That has to do with how surface reflect light... the shine.
Photo$hop... they now rob you blind with their "Software As A Service" for 20 bucks a month. If you have money to burn... 11 years of my PaintShop Pro would come out to 2640 bucks... for software? Adobe... Apple software...

    Go with Gimp. Cheaper,
    www.gimp.org

2- Lot of reading as in Googling commands and stuff:
Making Liveries Work in GIMP - Realish Racing
Game Painting tutorial to help learn basics of in game file detailing and painting

3- Lot of viewing as in YouTubing commands and stuff:
    https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...g+skin+rfactor

4- Lots of trial and error, giving up, trying some other time.
And like the 4 skins I created for this mod... missing it altogether, ending up with way too modern shins that do not fit with the mod... oh well, maybe I'll have better luck next time.

BTW, Lake Erie flaggers, does Gary Laing, gary alexander laing ring a bell?

I started out by reading and watching videos. You need a copy of Photo Shop. There are are some other programs you can use but I can't give any help with those. I know Photo Shop. When I say I know Photo Shop I mean I know enough about it to paint cars. I'm not an expert.
P.S. They have college courses you can take
