Fun race, Clean racing by everyone.
The alien's spared me this race, though I coundnt keep my front end from making contact with a tire wall at about lap 6 went from 9th to 12th, after I pitted and the crew fixed her up. I ran a clean race, (have to or I'm going to lose my seat, they said they have an AI Driver waiting in the wings.)
Thanks for the Photo op Stephen , I knew you had that in mind when you didnt pass me trough the last half of the track. Fun Stuff

    Congratulations Stephen and Paul.
I had a great race tonight it was fun and it was cool to see a better turnout on the grid.
Had a good start, and made it up to 7th before my fuel light started blinking on about lap #26 or so,darn pit crew,I was hoping it would last out untill about lap #30,but np as my medium tyres were getting real thin.
Pitted again 4 laps from the end and handed Sam 8th position on a plate.
Great work by the leaders trusting me to let them pass cleanly, hope I did not cause them any probs.
Thanks for turning in for the race everyone.
Sam will be putting something up showing the points standing etc, thanks again for taking on that job Sam.
    Joe.

    Here's your photo opportunity.

Great to get my first win at CMS on the board after the frustrations of Spa and the GT Challenge race at Dijon last week. After qualifying second behind Hein I was expecting a tougher race, especially after seeing he posted some very good times in practice.

I got a good launch off the grid, although Hein seemed to go nowhere and I led into turn one and was never headed for the rest of the race. Hein kept the gap around 1-3 seconds in the first few laps but then dropped back with a couple of mistakes and seemed to lose more time in traffic than I did. I don't know if he was running the medium tyres (I used the hard tyre) but I'd guess he was as he started to drop off quite significantly even in clear air. By the time Hein pitted I was over 20 seconds clear and after I'd made my stop some 6 laps later I led by 48 seconds! I stretched this out to the final margin of 52.8 seconds in the last half hour, just trying to concentrate on running a good, consistent pace. I managed to set the fastest lap fairly late on as well as an added bonus.

Cheers to all the guys in GT2 who did a great job of making it easy to get by. I tried to wait until the pit straight when I could so as not to risk yours and my race.

Here is a story from the race!

Also I just wanted to say that I had a blast today guys. I was the slowest of the GT-1 cars by a mile, but it was a good time. Today was my first race in the Vette in ILMS competition. I didnt have anything for this track in the way of a setup and I just did the best I could with a few tweaks and got out there and had a good time. The LF tire was really burning up on me -- so I had to switch from mediums to hard at the stop -- and my tires were suffering so much that I couldnt get the laptimes in the range I needed them to be. Getting adjusted to the new car was challenging at times so I am sorry for a few bumps I made on other drivers here and there ....

I am excited about this division. While I wont be able to make all of the races, I hope that if my work schedule will allow it I will be able to race in some of them and have fun with you guys! I would encourage any and all members here at CMS to get involved in this series -- lets support it and help it grow into the great thing it can be. I am enjoying meeting a lot of the new folks that have signed up.

Also congrats everyone today on a very clean race -- Cool!
