Uranus Racing is pulling out of this weeks race at Dijon after transport trailer fire claims thier three Saleen's.
"I received a phone call about 4:00am, Monday morning from our crew chief Guy. He proceed to tell me that the transport trailer caught fire at a rest stop on its way to the track." Kevin Cinnamon says. "Later on that day, I called the Police Chief to see if there was any evidence of someone starting the fire or if it was a accident. He told me that there thousands of little hairs were found around the rear of the trailer and that they were looking into it. After talking to the Police & Insurance company for hours, I called the president of TRG but all I got was a voice mail of someone laughing and screaming I Win?!?!?!?!"
When the reports of the fire hit the rest of the team, Tom Cinnamon gave the team time off to relax and get ready for the LMP race the following week.
As of thursday morning Kevin gave UranusRacing.Com some news on the #58 BMW M3. "I am glad to say that our GT2 BMW program will be running strong a Dijon with Jim Best behind the wheel. We wish he the best of luck and a strong finish! We will see you all next week."
Tom was seen on Thursday morning at Mid Ohio talking to Roger Penske & Bobby Rahal. So this confirms the rumours of Uranus Racing wanting to run a IRL car next season but we will see if the funds are available. We also tried to get a word with Stephen King but he was unavailable for comment as he was at his cottage.
