    Default M3 Setup Help

I was hoping someone could help me. I have been setting up the BMW M3 for my first ILMS race at Dijon tomorrow night. I have tweaked as much as I can with the limited setup knowledge I have. The best lap I have been able to turn is 1:19-1:20, and that was barely in control. I have also reviewed the replay from the Dijon race last week, and cannot see anything glaringly wrong with my driving from those posting times 5-6 seconds faster on average.

Would someone either be willing to send me their setup so I can compare and learn perhaps where I went wrong, or let me send you my setup for your review and feedback. If there is concern with sharing, I would not be using your setup in competition. This is simply a learning opportunity for me.

    Thanks!

Try this one Jim,I just tested it and it is good for approx 1:15.5
NP if you want to use it for the race.
Ignore the magny cours file name, made a typo mistake while naming it.
    It was tested at Dijon.

Just an FYI all these cars seem to require a lot more wing than you are used to in other MODS. Adding wing acutally can make you faster. That's the most common mistake in this MOD is to try an reduce the wings. Do take some time to read Mike Tylers setup guide as it is a wealth of knowledge, and he alludes to this and some other differences with the physics of this MOD.

I would suggest that you concentrate more on your line and braking points. The default setup is actually pretty good and I seriously doubt that you will find 5-6 seconds in a setup change. Although the default setup probably isn't suited to a long race, you should be able to run low to mid 1:14's in the BMW's with no changes.

    Ditto to Kinger's post.

Since Troy provided a hot lap for you, take a look at rFactorCentral for the vcrmerge tool. It allows you to take your hot lap and merge it with another hot lap and see them on the track at the same time. It is very useful.

yup. i could get the default set around dijon under 1:15 no prob. but like troy said, you won't make it 1.5 hrs on the default set's tires. i'll be in the server off and on tonight and around practice time tomorrow. i'll send you one and adjust it for your driving style.
    practice, fool!

Thanks for all the help guys! I have been using the setup guide, and it is very good. I will try the merge utility... sounds interesting.

I'll look at the setups tonight, and continue to turn laps.
