This will be my first race with CMS. How does the qualifying work? If it's 2 laps solo, it doesn't seem like 10 minutes is long enough.

It's estimate time - defaulted by iRacing. Everyone will qualifying at same time but won't see each other on the track. Total of three laps qualifying (first lap is "warm up" with no time) can take about 5-7 minutes total. I'm sure 10 minutes is plenty. If you failed to get qualify, you will be put at end of grid - don't worry about it.

When the qualifying starts, the button will run a quick check on your setup and the button will change to "Qualify". You need to click it and run first lap (that are not counted) and the official lap will start when you see green flag. Try not to get off track penalty or black flag during your qualifying because the time will not be counted.

And it will be standing start – do not move your vehicle during red light or you will get black flagged (I have black flagged twice. Lol)

Well, I enjoyed my first race. I toodled along, mostly by myself, turning my 1:40s. :-) But I never left the track or spun and had a little fun racing people as they passed me. :-) I accomplished my goal, racing clean, finishing and not getting lapped (although that was mostly due to the short 20 laps). And I kept David in sight a good part of the race. I don't know what happened to the guys behind me.

Thanks all for the help getting started. I'm looking forward to future races, and getting a little quicker so I can be a bit more competitive.
