Default Spec Racer Ford Series Signup and Details - CMS iRacing League Season 1

    Hello CMS iRacers,

We are getting close to our first season of league racing with the iRacing Sim. We will be running the Spec Racer Ford for our first season and the schedule will follow that of the iRacing official series. The races will most likely be on Saturday nights, but I don't have exact times yet as I don't know if we will incorporate practice and qualifying sessions until we get more information from iRacing. We don't have all the details from iRacing yet , but I will continue to update this post as we get more and more information. My main intent at this point is to make you all aware that we will have an iRacing league at CMS and create a place to keep you updated on its details.

My vision for this series is to create an environment where we can enjoy competition amongst friends in this great simulation. We will track points to create an atmosphere where each race is important. However, this series will not be purely about competition. If you want to race in a league where the only concern is winning at all costs, this is not the place for you. I would like to create an environment that is open and friendly to beginners as well as veterans of Sim-Racing. Most importantly, I want to create a series that is in keeping with the spirit and legacy of Champion Motorsports.

My understanding is that Safety Rating and iRating will not be in-effect during league races. Therefore it will be up to the admins to police the racing. I don't plan to watch every replay to determine penalities and racing incidents will not be penalized. However, We will listen to protests and if someone is found to have broken the iRacing sporting code, they will be penalized in a manner that is fair to the offender and the other competitors.

If you are interested in racing with us, post in this thread. I'm not positive that we will be able to pick numbers, but it is better safe than sorry. All I need at this point is your name as it appears in iRacing and the number you would like to run on your Spec Racer Ford. We don't know about the league fees at this point, so I may ask for donations at a later date.

Also, I am looking for another person to help me out with admin duties. If you are intersted, send me a PM. I need someone who has time to help and is enthusiastic about iRacing and Champion Motorsports. Duties will include helping monitor the forums, setting up races in the iRacing software, writing stories for front page at CMS, updating points standings etc....

    EDIT:
Looks like leagues are delayed for now. We will start this fresh once we get a solid date for league implementation in iRacing.

Sounds good, as long the timeslot ultimately chosen works.

As to tracks, it was my understanding that you can choose a track schedule from any series regardless of car. For example you can run the Mazda track schedule using the Spec Racer. If that is indeed correct, I'd like to see us opt for a bit more diversity than the advanced rookie tracks SR follows.

Thanks for taking the helm on this, Wes. See you boys on the track.
