need some pointers
OK, I just signed up for iRacing - I found a free first month coupon at the Radical website.
Anyway, I feel completely lost. Where are my lap times? Where are my sector splits? A couple of times the car has died on my - can I find out why? I think it is because I am having shifter problems with my wheel and it down shifted into reverse when I was going 80 MPH.
Anyway, I feel completely lost without any of the information that I normally get from rFactor. Is there a telemetry output somewhere?
Thanks

Greg the function keys on the keyboard will give you useful information. F1, F2, F3, etc. Also there is an add on for split and sector times that you have to install if you want those. See post in this forum from Kris Hudson. I will try to find a link for you. on the Iracing website you will see a link to reference which is the online manual contains a lot of useful information ... hope this helps. Great to have you on iRacing will add you to my friends list.

But the information is good. I like seeing real time how far ahead or behind I am from my best lap. That really does help. I would love to see something like this for rFactor.
I really miss the monitor view of rFactor though. Is there something like that were I can see all the laps of the other competitors on track? For instance in rFactor, i can go search for the top dog's fastest lap to see if they did that in race trim or qual trim for instance. Or I can see how consistent a competitor is by looking at his lap times.
There also seems to be very little information you get about the car. How are my brakes doing for temp for instance.
I see you posted another link. I will read that.
Thanks for helping.

As far as seeing a competitors times, you can use the F2 key to see their best time for the current session. The only way to see multiple lap times is by clicking on "laps" beside the persons name, in the results window, after the session has ended.
Telemetry info is still hard to come by. I heard that they are working on making the telemetry data available at some point. Right now the only thing I know of is this telemetry viewer (http://www.thesimstation.net/communi...hp?cid=5&lid=7). It gives limited data and you can't see things like brake temps. You can see tire temps in the garage area without any third part tools.
Hope this helps.
