My first and (almost) LAST Legends Race!
I joined my first ever iRacing oval race last night. Rookie Legends at Lanier and if that was any indication of what oval racing is like...I'll pass. Erratic, over aggressive, and down right ridiculous driving. I had a guy turn down on me while we were on the straight! He hit me in the right rear, which caused me to lose control. I thought it was intentional at the time and after looking at the replay, my opinion hasn't changed.
I filed a protest today, but my SR took a thrashing and I even lost .04 SR pts on my road SR!

Reason: Never say never. I changed the title.

Nim took a look at my protest and said it wasn't intentional and just the result of inexperience. O.K., but that's why I'm done with the Rookie Legends. Maybe the Advanced Legends will be better, but I'm holding out for some Trucks.

Reason: I said COT, but I meant the Truck series

My experience in the higher class Oval Races has been good. Very few cautions for the most part ... ... I think in the lower ranked races it's a crap shoot.

I agree, the rookie races are really hit or miss. It gets a lot better.

Well...against my better judgment, I decided to give the ole Legends (Rookie) another chance. This race was much better, but I still got spun. At least this time the guy apologized. I started 8th and finished 4th. Considering that I spun and finished only ten seconds behind the leader, I consider that a pretty good run.
I must admit, last year when I tried the Legends for the first time, I hated it, but it's starting to grow on me. I like the Rookie Legends, because I don't have to fiddle fart around with setups, but the brake bias is diabolical and at a bandbox like Lanier, you don't want to touch the brakes even in the slightest.
One thing is for sure, there are a ton of noobs in the Legends cars and I'm not sure if I'll venture back out amongst them. I don't want to sound like a sim snob, but I really hate racing against noobies.

When will I ever learn...
I just couldn't keep away from the Legends car this week and I entered three races. I looped it while leading in one race, got punted by lapped traffic in another and ran an unofficial race all by my lonesome after the other two guys dropped out.
I'm developing a serious love hate relationship with that damn legends series.
