First day back in iRacing...
first iRacing Victory!
I raced two races this evening in the Solstice at Laguna Seca. I didn't have a qualifying time, but somehow I ended up starting fifth in both races. In the first race I was hounding the hell out of the leader for about eight laps when he made a mistake in turn three, I got down on the inside as we headed into four, but he wasn't going to give up the position. I admit, it was a risky move on my part and I was counting on the fact that he might be a little intimidated by my bold move, but he wasn't. As we reached the apex, he tried to force me below the rumble strip and we made contact. The end result was that we both spun and I eventually finished fifth. In the second race, I started fifth again and just like race one, I was running second by the time we got to the corkscrew. When the leader spun in the middle of Rainey Curve (T9), I inherited and cruised to my first iRacing win! Woo hoo!
I know that there are probably a lot of people who don't/won't like the Pontiac Solstice, but driving it is an immensely satisfying experience IMO. The physics are better than I remember and I'm really excited to be iRacing again!

I always liked the Solstice. Don't know why so many people hate it so much. I like it because I imagine it is what it would feel like to take my wife's car out and treat it like a dog.
