    From ECCI:

Several users of ECCI controls have contacted us and expressed having some difficulties getting the wheel optimally set up in iRacing. We have tested extensively in the past week and we make available the following guidelines.

    EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATIONS

Steering hardware: CDS4000, Trackstar 6000, or 6000MT equipped with FLDS. USB HD Ultra interface is mandatory.

Pedals: Trackstar 6000 with Stage 2 Race Brake kit is optimal and Stage 1 Race brake is nearly as good. Any Trackstar 6000 with PMB2 or CDS4000 with PMB will provide good performance.

Note that a Stage 2 or Stage 1 Race Brake requires both the pedals and driving seat to be firmly secured. Maximum pedal pressures with these run in the 140 pound (63kg) range vs 40 pounds.

    SETUP REQUIREMENTS

iRacing setup requirements for standard 240 degree (non-MT) steering units:

    1. Steering unit steering limiters set to maximum mechanical travel (240 degrees).
    2. iRacing Controller Options steering lock to lock range set to 360 degrees.

    STEERING CALIBRATION

For standard 240 degree steering units – steps must be followed exactly:

    1. First screen: Move wheel as prompted all the way from lock to lock, click “Done”.
    2. Second screen: Depart from prompted procedure and turn the wheel all the way to left lock (screen should now show 180 degrees), back off very slightly until screen shows 182 degrees, click “Done”.
    3. Third screen: Do as prompted and let the wheel go back to center, click “Done”.

Following these recommendations will result in a highly competitive ECCI setup. Any deviations from them are not recommended, although experimentation by experienced and knowledgeable drivers can be performed with the understanding of what the consequences could be (in other words don’t experiment in a race setting, and take the time to anticipate what the effects of any changes might be before making them).

Troy here is what I have found. The settings I posted here work great for ovals. I am using the 182 that they recommend with the lock to lock at 360. That feels good. However for Road Courses I am setting it to 240 and the lock to lock to 240 as well and that gives me a faster turning car. Hope this helps. These settings make a huge difference in the wheel at iRacing.

Try them you'll really see a difference.

Believe it or not, I had completely forgotten about this thread and I just got around to trying these new settings last night. I'm not sure whether the change will influence my actual race results, but in testing with the 240/240 settings, I was more than a second faster in race trim (Prototype/Watkins Glen) and I actually bettered my qualifying time with a full fuel load. Go figure.

Now if I can just figure out how to properly adjust the brakes.

Thank you for this thread and the recomendations on ECCI wheel settings.
Have just recently returned to racing, was long time papyrus sims participant who thought N3 was best ever. Have just gotten new pc and signed up for Iracing and am going to be using my Daytona CDS4000 of course. Thought the ECCI unit was awesome for the earlier papy games N3 and previous I was winning league championships etc., but i struggled with the later sims and the wheel especially with NR2003. After about 6 hours of driving with the Iracing car and my ECCI wheel I think I can really be competetive again as the setting procedure given here seems to give good stable car. Thank you!!!

Glad this was able to help you --- Feel free to stick around here at CMS if you see things you like. We have a new member introductions area on the forums if you'd like to post a profile -- We also do some iRacing (Road Racing) as well as have a very active rFactor league here as well - David
