Default Devin Obrien continues impressive Hot Streak with victory at Mosport

Every once in a while a driver at Champion Motorsports gets on a great hot streak and we are seeing one right now in the iRacing Division. Devin O'brien is running up front, winning and contending to win every week, and is really showing a tremendous amount of talent in our iRacing Series.

Tonight Devin would win a very close race at Mosport as he had a fierce and tight battle with Charles Stout for the win all night. The two drivers were pretty much on each others' bumpers for the entire race, and would swap the top spot a couple of times. Devin had a bobble with just a few laps remaining and it looked as if Charles would get his first win of the season, but Devin made a great pass to retake the lead and take the win. With Stout in 2nd, John Hyatt was the remaining driver on the lead lap and in the final podium spot.

Here are a look at the results from tonight

and through 4 races here are our Championship Standings

Next week we will be headed to Road Atlanta and it will be very interesting to see if Devin can continue his hot streak or if the other drivers put in extra time to see if they can knock him off the top of the hill. Regardless it should be another great race.

Congratulations to all the finishers tonight at Mosport and thank you to everyone coming out and supporting the iRacing Wednesday Night Races.

To be honest, I don’t really know what happened tonight or how the heck I got 3rd place. I’m probably the slowest 3rd placer! I don’t really put too much effort to race anyone hard. On Lap 2, I almost hit tires at turn #2 – I’d say I was about 1 or 2 feet away from crash. I came back on track and try my best to keep my car on the track.

I tried my best to keep me in last place and I failed. *shaking head*

Congrats to Devin and Charles for great finishing and I hope we can have another great racing at Road Atlanta next week.

Grats Devin At least i made you earn it again. Great driving too - i laid the pressure on quite thick

RA is another strong track for me - i'll be shooting for a win there too.

I just realized - that was an incident free race for me Sweet.

I had a great time last night and was reasonably quick at this track. Not as fast as Devin and Charles, but enough to be somewhat competitive for the podium for sure. That was the plan as I had a good start on the grid and was settling in and then BOOM. I went off in Turn 2 and into the wall and had to do a reset, which cost me a lot of time ... had another off track excursion later in the race in the same spot as well by messing up that corner, and ended up falling off the lead lap. But from that point on I settled in and had a nice run. It was a great track, I really enjoyed this car there ... thanks for coming out and supporting the series guys I am having a lot of fun with these races, looking forward to next week already. - DA

    Thanks guys, another fun race.

Charles was quite the gentleman competitor by giving up 2 or 3 seconds (and not running into me when I spun right in front of him) and allowing me to get behind him after we came to a sliding halt when I got a tire off in the hairpin. The re-pass was a close contest and a bit of luck for me.

Very fun race and pressure all race kept my heart rate going.

    See y'all next week.
