    Default CMS iRacing Series Rules

    OFFICIAL CMS iRACING RULES
(The rules apply to all iRacing series)

    General Rules
    • Have Fun. This rule is the most important rule. Anyone that takes themselves or this too seriously may be in the wrong place to race. Having fun in the end is all that matters.
    • ALL iRacing Rules and Sporting Code apply to our races. If it's a rule in iRacing Sporting code we expect it to be followed and adhered to in our events at all times.
    • Drivers are expected to be prepared for the race. This is common sense, if you are having a hard time controlling your car, weaving all over the track or spinning out frequently you are not prepared. Speeds of all levels are fine -- but car control is a must.
    • No Chatting in the race at any time -- except for Auto Chat messages to signal things such as pit entrance, exit, etc...
    • Racing back to the line is not allowed after the caution falls. When the caution comes out -- take your current position and fall in line as soon as possible behind a pace car.
    • If you act like an idiot you will be banned -- this is common sense and includes on the track, on the forums or voice chat. We are all adults and expected to act like it and treat one another with respect at all times - this rule may be vague but if you need more detail than this there is probably a problem.

    Driver Conduct

Competitors in the iRacing series as with any other event here at Champion Motorsports are required to treat all drivers and race officials with respect on the race course, in race chat and in our forums.

There is a zero tolerance for deliberate attempts to wreck another driver, regardless of the circumstances.

So, if you feel the need to channel your inner Carl Edwards, be prepared to face the consequences. You will be banned, an official protest will be filed with iRacing, and you will be getting an email from Nim Cross.

There will be no warnings, no appeals, and no second chances.

    • All competitors must realize that we all race for fun and enjoyment. Setting up one's car for any online race and the iRacing series in particular will require a serious effort by drivers. Therefore we expect that everyone drive within their limits and take care not to affect the race of others by taking risks that would be unacceptable on a real race course.
    • Flaming other drivers, swearing, making accusations in Champion Motorsports forums or engaging in any form of chat rage may result in being banned from our forums and or being excluded from competition. Any driver who feels aggrieved by an on track incident or the behavior of another competitor is encouraged to follow proper procedure by contacting race stewards within 48 hours of such an incident.
    • Flaming the admins or the administration staff in the forums or as part of any form of chat rage is strictly prohibited and may result in being banned from our forums and or being excluded from competition. Any driver who feels the need to communicate his or her concerns about an administrative issue may do so in a civil manner via the forum’s Private Messaging system.

    Race Starts

The start of every race can be the point where accidents can be the most damaging both for our competitors and our race series. Champion Motorsports expects that everyone take care not to be over aggressive on race starts or for the first lap of any event. All race starts will be reviewed and penalties will be issued to drivers who fail to comply with the following. (Please note that a driver can cause an accident without making contact with another car.)
    • During formation lap, NO wheel spins, heavy braking or swerving back-and-forth.
    • Do NOT not leave large gaps between yourself and the car in front of you.
    • Causing an incident during the formation lap will be cause for penalty and or suspension.
    • No passing before the start/finish line.
    • Causing an incident prior to the exit of turn one will be cause for penalty and or suspension.

Penalties for violations of Rules and Regulations.
    • 1st Offense: 1-5 Championship Point deduction depending on the severity of the incident and the number of other drivers affected.
    • 2nd Offense: 10 Championship Point deduction.
    • 3rd Offense: 10 Championship Point deduction and a one race suspension.
    • 4th Offense: Forfeiture of all points earned for the offending race and suspension for the remainder of the season.

Currently, CMS will offer road racing on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday racing is open to the public and Wednesday sessions will be members only. The server will always be named Champion Motorsports (normal race password).

All rules are Subject to Change at any time as needed -- any changes will be highlighted and announced to the members...
